I found a really interesting post from a link to an article from the OT:Law Firm Associates Getting SLAUGHTERED… Topic (which I have found very informative)
“Laid-off professionals turn to ‘survival jobs'”

I am trying to get people to see the big picture anytime I take on this losing battle, no one has seen it yet. Maybe someone can see it in this great post from the Seattle Times.

Rating: (6) (0)I have been preaching for years about the way the Government had aligned itself with Big Business and turned a blind eye to the American Citizen worker. I am 60 years old so I have seen the better times. When I graduated from High School it was a question of where I wanted to work (What kind of job did I want – Carpenter –Manufacturing – Electrician- and so forth) America had a huge Manufacturing Sector and everyone was in Unions so there was a large middle class in America in the 1960’s. Sure we all knew Unions were supposedly full of Wise Guys and Crooks as Business Reps and Union officials so we all knew they were crooks but with a Union we had collective bargaining over Big Business Owners and that gave us a chance to get decent wages that we would not get without the Union’s or collective Bargaining. I was Eighteen and I went to work for Convair (Manufacturing Aircraft in San Diego, California) I made enough Money in 1966 to have a wife who stayed home raising my Son while living in the Three Bedroom house with two bathrooms that I was buying and I drove a brand new Chevrolet Car. I was not anything special because everyone who worked had the same thing going on in their lives then. Unions covered America then and CEO’s made about 40 times the Pay of the Workers then not 300 times like now. Then the Politicians changed to care more about themselves than the American Citizens and things started to change for the worse. The first sign of the future was when the Government went about convincing the workers that Unions were communistic and we did not need them it was a brain washing thing back in the 1970’s and Union Membership declined until the Unions were gone – Guess what happened Wages went down to what they are today. The Second thing to happen was the First Business Off shored its manufacturing operations out of the USA and Viola every other business complained that they could not compete anymore and they started a landslide of Business Manufacturers who had of shored their Manufacturing out of the USA and now there were no high paying Manufacturing jobs left for anyone to get and the whole time the US Government was giving tax Breaks for off shoring to businesses. Then the way they hid it from the American Citizen was to pretend to be tough on Illegal immigration while the whole time turning a blind eye towards illegal immigration. The Illegal immigrants provided businesses with dirt cheap labor allowing prices to remain artificially low thus hiding the effects from the Average American lulling them into thinking everything was ok when it was far from it. Remember when Regan broke the Air Traffic Controllers Union in 1980’s? What we have now is a poor American Citizen who cannot afford the lifestyle that their parents enjoyed just 40 years ago and we ask how come. Well now you know the real deal… This is a very rough draft there are many more tricks that business did to the American Citizen with the help of the Guys in Washington who by the way are not sharing in the pain as the rest of us are – Ask yourself How Come? You Know how come, you just do not want to admit it because that means we have been cheated and taken advantage of. The question is what are we going to do about the Liars and Cheats who now run this country?

Scarlet, why don’t you get back to work at GM, since taxpayers are paying for your blog postings?

March 3, 2009 at 1:16 PM #359332Rt.66ParticipantThat’s creative Flu and funny too.
Are you thought processes on American manufactured goods and unions your own? Are they self serving or self sacrificing? How did you arrive at your “gee my Honda is so great and GM sucks” attitude? Do you even know why you hate good union jobs that have worker protection, good pay and benefits? Any idea why you bloat with delight when thousands more lose their good union jobs in Michigan while Korea picks up those jobs building the Hyundias more and more Americans find so appealing? Do you wonder why your thoughts go strait to “yeah those greedy bastards deserve it”?
Why do you think GM or Ford or Chrysler makes shitty cars when you see them everyday reliably taking your nieghbor to work or next to you on the highway doing the same thing your Honda is doing, just as well. Do you even know that Toyota repair bays are full lots of the time?
