Participant
I’m out.
I think were headed for a recession – and it will probably be worse than 2008. Probably the recession that should have been allowed to run it’s course in 2008.
No personal discretionary spending – I’m not even going out for pizza tonight like I had planned.
is pizza really discretionary? it seems to fall into almost the quasimandatory realm. maybe not a whole pie, perhaps, but living in nyc, a slice. i think even the homeless subsist in large part on pizza.
ever since oggis closed in temecula, though, pizza doesnt really exite me here. spuntinos, is good, i guess. is there a pizza place you love that I’ve missed? Sometimes utopizza, which was coupon driven for a while, but i find th ename kind of embarrassing, and the pizza unamazing.

ParticipantIt is always odd to me how broke people seemed to vote against their current financial interests, seemingly aligned with billionaires when they are themselves hundredaires. My dad said it was cause they all expected to be rich soon.
I think everyone just woke up and realized they have been a bunch of fools. U mad bro?

Participant

”We are being tested”. I hear religious people say that a lot. Does God test people?
Do you put a cupcake in front of a dessert addict to see if he will resist? I don’t have even knowledge of religion to understand.
If they take the cupcake, you torture them with fire for eternity.
If they resist the cupcake, you reward them with fluffy clouds and harps for eternity.Makes sense.
Unless you say youre, sorry you took the cupcake and u love thevLord.. Then it’s all ok.

ParticipantThere’s a decent size Muslim commty. In temecula. I have one Muslim colleague, who happens to be fun and interesting and not particularly discernably muslim. He is definitely not a terrorist, except insofar as he completely terrorizes opposing counsel.

ParticipantWife and I decided if we win we won’t move. Estimated we have about 150,000 we could spend. The remainder is pretty much extra. She wants to keep working. I guess I will too. I might buy some art by Chris ware. I’ll keep the Honda Accord though

Participant
I seriously don’t have the patience to record everything I eat in an app.
It’s quick. It has a scanner. That puts in all info. U can type in also generic name, like pecans, and all nutritional info pops up. It’s super fast. Eerily fast. Also most of us eat the same thing often and u just click on it, adjust portion if necessary. The time to record also makes u hesitate and,in my case ashamed to put cap in my mouth.
It’s not difficult.
Except mentally.
When and if you’re ready and need to change, keep it in mind!

ParticipantRight. Few Asians. Easier curve … higher grades. Humboldt. But if the Asians start attending…might get too tough…unless they’re all on acid….or maybe that’ll just get them sharper….not sure…
scaredyclassic
ParticipantTrue, Steve jobs did plenty of acid but kept sharp. But there are very few Asians up there at humblest, maybe that’s the more important metric, not sure about Asians on acid as competition.
I want to attend humboldt

ParticipantMy middle kid just got accepted to Humboldt state! I say go! Not only could he be a strong fish in a small pond, if he can avoid drugs, which I think he will, he could be stone cold sober in premed classes with hungover stoners and slide into med school easily!

ParticipantMy earthquake insurance quote is quite a bit higher, I think 2k a year? Which probably means Temecula is much more likely to liquefy in the event of a major seismic event. Which means maybe I should buy it. I do own more than half of my house, and I would like to stay, so I probably should get the insurance. Its just, the deductible is so damn high. I doubt I’ll sleep any better at night than I am. Ive been sleeping so well since I knocked off drinking again 3 weeks ago. I don’t get up in the middle of the night to pee. I just sleep the whole night through. It’s amazing.
