Ethical reasons are I believe the only way to sustain veganism. Health is too murky and selfish to keep one inbounds.
True, if people would be motivated to eat for health, we wouldn’t be dealing with a 70% overweight/obesity rate…

I would vote for the Chevy Bolt EUV.
What’s wrong with the regular Bolt hatchback? Why does a commuter need the bloatbarge version?
Because the bloatbarge version has more utility outside of commute life. Plus the price is not that different and the range is essentially the same. It is well worth that couple thousand extra for the bloatbarge version.
ocrenterParticipantcrazy how young vegans look compared to carnivores.
red meat and dairy products contain Neu5Gc, a naturally produced carcinogen. this is for all red meat and dairy, regardless of “grass fed” or “organic” or “free range.”
not enough to just be vegan, got to be whole grain vegan as the processed refined carbs are horrible for triglycerides.

same thing with keto diet folks. they rave about the 50 lb weight loss within 3 months, then say nothing as they then slowly gain the 50 lbs back.

get it after first of the year for the federal tax rebate.
ocrenterParticipantgood for you scaredy!
veganism is the way to go.
not quite sure why people are so set in their ways regarding animal products. especially given the proven cancer risks and most definitely the cardiovascular harm.
it is kinda like, ok, I’m going to eat this thing that I know will cause me harm, I know animals had to live a painful and tortuous life and die for this, and the earth will pay dearly for this, but I must continue to do this because I’m conditioned to believe this is normal and this is my right.
December 20, 2020 at 5:49 PM in reply to: Pfizer vaccine sits in warehouses while people keep being infected… #820321ocrenterParticipantit does make a lot of sense from their prospective.
1. Red states are patriots, blue states are not.
2. Red states have actual Americans, blue states have much more people that are not “real” Americans.
3. Red states have more true Christians (evangelicals), blue states have godless heathens.
4. Red state votes are weighted more per voter compared to blue states. That is their world view, therefore why would the blue states even think they’ll be getting equal amount of vaccines???
ocrenterParticipantHawaii… such an interesting country.
This country of brown and yellow people speak such good English. They are so trusting too, I’ve never gotten my passport checked when I land. And they really love the US and UK, I see the American and British flags everywhere?!
ocrenterParticipant

FYI, already had a handful of cases where an office visit where a patient started to explore a conspiracy theory with me and the visit ended with the said patient heading to the pharmacy for an anti-depressant.
Wow! One of those face-to-palm moments! Article makes so much sense why folks with those traits are more likely to believe in conspiracies.
Very enlightening, thanks OC.
Moments like this make me feel very dumb.
Thanks.
I especially enjoyed this quote:
“Narcissism is positively associated with paranoid thinking, as narcissists are perceiving the actions of others intentionally targeted against themselves. [… Also,] conspiracies are appealing to people who lack confidence and excess self-promotional characteristics, such as self-esteem.”
Fits the current occupant of the WH to a T. Got his start with Birtherism, ending with massive multi-state million plus election fraud. Would not expect anything less.
Btw, the first patient took me a few visits. He first came in talking about Andrew Yang being a Chinese plant. Second visit was on to 5G. By the 3rd visit he was talking about Bill Gates, that’s when I put him on meds. The rest after him came much easier, single visit and directly on to medication.

ocrenterParticipantJust got done with refi with HLS, amazing guy, fantastic to work with, highly recommended!

We went sans-bread, pasta, and most other processed food for awhile and I have to say I noticed differences within a couple of weeks. It was amazing. We’ve backed off a little on that, but still very limited amounts and still get most of the benefit of eliminating them entirely.
Vegan wouldn’t be that much of a jump for us – me especially. It was tough giving up pasta but we adapted and the cravings went away. We could do it again for cheese & eggs.
Getting rid of refined carbs definitely the biggest bang for your buck from health perspective.
I was never into cheese that much. Give JUST egg a try, pretty amazing!
ocrenterParticipant
The planet cant take it.
this author changed my life.
im way more concerned about the health of the planet than i am about covid, but im pretty damn worried about covid
We have gone vegan for about a year.
Gradual process of course, first just my wife, then the whole family. Got rid of dairy early given high sugar content, cheese was hard for the wife, eggs very hard for the daughter.
Wife did it mostly for animal welfare and environment, me more for environment and health. She couldn’t take my EVangelizing ways, so veganism was a good compromise.
Whole lot easier to go the vegan route these days, highly recommended.
ocrenterParticipant
@OCR: Would it be fair to say that the CDC reported Covid death totals are including the subacute and even chronic factors?
COVID would be just acute and subacute at this time. I suppose someone with long term complications from COVID a few more months and couple of years down the road can qualify for chronic.
