ParticipantSmells fishy to me. I hear it was known among the construction folks that this project was very much under water, and that the condos are selling so slowly that all of the plumbers on the site have been pulled for some time now.
Just my little 2 cents.novice1027
ParticipantIt’s good to see some things haven’t changed. I haven’t participated on this forum for awhile, but I see PS is still the same annoying, obnoxious, narrow focused person around, and this is coming from one of the “girls” on this site.
I hope she follows suit and goes one step too far and gets her priviledges yanked!
I would be forever grateful!novice1027
ParticipantThat good to hear.

ParticipantAs with anything, there are good and bad stories. As far as I am concerned, I wouldn’t go or work there, based on the general things I have heard

ParticipantI have work at Palomar and have for 9 nine years. They are a great employer with very good benefits. Lots of longevity also.
I have worked for Scripps in the past, also a good employer, I think it would all depend on where you live, but my real preference is Palomar.
Good luck!novice1027
ParticipantI wouldn’t live in a neighborhood without HOA’s! Yeah they can be a PIA, if you are the person not following the rules. Early in my homwowner days, I got harrassed for having grass growing out of my crack(in my driveway), but now that I have become a responisible adult, I like having them police some of the other idiotic inconsiderate people, and I would be really pissed if my neighbors painted their house purple and had weeds waist highin their front lawns.
Besides, our HOA fees have only gone up $25 in 15 years so I won’t be complaining anytime soon.novice1027
ParticipantThe fact that she quit her job to sell cupcakes, while paying two mortgages, shows how really stupid she is!
Add her lost wages and her declining equity, boy it sure sounds smart to me.
She deserves to loose more money!!

ParticipantTry the Riveria Motel in San Clemente. Total debauchery. Mirrors on the ceiling, 1970’s decor, round beds, jacuzzi in room, sunk in water beds, swings, 24 hour porn. She’ll LOVE it. There is even a guy in a black satin robe behind the desk. It’s kind of tacky, but clean, so I have been told, lol!

Participant"JES, I don't think that enlisting makes someone a hero by default. It's a job like anything else. Military personel don't have to join. Military is just just the best job for the best pay for those who serve."
Now my hackles are up! I think signing up for any job that has the great potential to put your life on the line when duty calls, does make you a hero by default! If that doesn't then what in the world does?
The fact that they don't have to join, also makes them more of a hero, than if they were drafted and had no choice. Anyone who signs up knows that they can be called to duty to protect you, me, and anyone else, and knows that they have to go no questions asked because that is what they have sworn to do, is very much a hero in my mind.
Have you looked at the salary of an enlisted person? They aren't getting rich doing it.
Now I fell better! And thanks to all of our under paid heros out there, you are much appreciated in my mind!!!

ParticipantClearly relocating to Pendelton is not an option.
The have to get permission from the Enviromentalist every time they want to dig a new fox hole, so you can forget any other kind of major developement on that site.
If a bird gets killed during a training excercise, they have to notify everyone and their brother.
Besides we in North County don’t want that noise!!August 7, 2006 at 9:01 PM in reply to: U-T: “Caught in the Middle” – making ends meet on $50K/year #31191novice1027
ParticipantMaybe I’m missing something here, and since I don’t have kids, I probably am, but doesn’t it seem like our society spends way too much on things that we see as “necessities?”
Most kids I know have their own tv’s, dvd’s, cell phones, Ipods, and the list goes on and on.
If we cut out all of these “necessities” and got back to the basics we would all be better off?
I kinda hope that if we do have a recession/depression this will help to re-set our priorities. I can’t imagine having to place generic cereal in a glass container, because my kid would know it wasn’t a brand name. I sure would not have known the difference or cared when I was a kid. Geez my mom put toothpicks in vienna sausage and I thought that was a treat. Don’t forget the pineapple rings on the spam!
I know if I lost my job tomorrow, I could cut out at least $600 worth of expenses a month right off the top, without even having to think about it. Let alone having an RV I can’t afford to drive, and am probably making monthly payments on it.
PS, no offense, so please don’t take any, if I read it correctly, you said you spend about $500 a month on cloths. My question to folks out there with kids, what happen to the days of shopping at the beginning of the school year, and wearing the same cloths until the school year was over?
I know that is not how it works today, but why not? Would it be so bad to have to live like that? Would the kids of today not appreciate things more if they had to wait for them, or save for them. Just asking, from someone who spends WAY too much on her dog!

ParticipantYou couldn’t drag me out of CA kicking and screaming.
Well maybe a Caribbean island, but other that that, I’m here for good.
