Escaped the 3rd round of layoffs today – large defense contractor in RB.
Today’s RIF was about 50 people or so.
Good for you! Any insight on those that didn’t make the cut? Older/younger, skilled/unskilled, mostly management, etc? Did you talk with any of them after they got their notice?
Management 101….
Always trim the tree from the bottom of the worker bees, starting with the most highly paid ones that aren’t close to senior citizen age.
Paramount, how close am I in describing what happened?

FLU what company are you talking about? I don’t know what defense companies are in RB. I’ve seen an SAIC building nearby Westwood, but don’t know RB all that well.
If take the ascii decimal number representation of the characters in the name and put them together, you’d would have in sequence
Satan’s number , the third prime number, and a number describing a sex act

I mean this in a good way…Start looking now even though you survived round three. I am pretty certain this is just the start, and they are just staggering out the rif’s. It’s almost certain there will be successive ones in the very near future. Side note….A bay area division is also shutting down and relocating to Virginia… Folks that relo get to keep their jobs, so I’m told. You can confirm this yourself….
