CA Renter, you make me grin.
We are renting here and will rent there. Our journey here in California started up north in the redwoods for 2 and a half years, then down here to the beach for 2 years and now off to the mountains for a time yet to be determined.

It’s a Danish styled small town, that had a few nice bed and breakfast places. If you can find lodging there, it’s a nice short trip. (Your kids might get bored).
SF for the weekend would probably be too much for you (especially if you have kids). [/quote]
I grew up in Solvang π
It’s about 30 miles north of Santa Barbara. Lot’s of good wine tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley and several pretty good restaurants in Buellton, Solvang, Los Olivos and Santa Ynez.

April 10, 2009 at 9:54 AM #378739svelteParticipantWife has been mentioning Solvang…looks like I will be heading there soon.
We also haven’t done Catalina in all the years we’ve been in SoCal…i think this is the year for that too.
We are big SF fans…one of our favorite places. But 2009 is the year to try new things.
