I’m actually in favor of allowing many more Iraqi refugees to resettle in America. It’s our responsibility since we created such a mess in Iraq.

I believe that the difference between Iraqi refugees and unauthorized Hispanic immigrants is that the refugees are legal residents with a clear path to citizenship.

Legal immigrants are integrated into the official economy. They can drive cars, work, and save money to buy houses.

Unauthorized immigrants are “on the run”. They are afraid at every turn so they just get by. They pay high fees and surcharges for everything so they can’t save money.

I believe that our economy would be stronger if we legalized the unauthorized immigrants already in the country.

I am still on H1B visa drawing pretty good money waiting for my green card for last 7 years.
I am in states for last 10 years and gotten my MS in EE here.

But everywhere I look, people following the straight path are punished here.
Everyone talks about the illegal immigrants no one talks about people like us waiting for our green card.
People who acted in a fiscally responsible way now are bailing out the others..

You are so right, dd. It seems that rewarding fraud and corruption is the new “American way.”

How are you punished? You are working legally and are waiting for a Green Card.

No unauthorized immigrant is jumping ahead of you causing you to fall back in line. Your wait in line remains the same or could be shortened with immigration reform.
