Veritas: Well, Nazi is simply shorthand for “National Socialist”. Both Hitler and Mussolini were at the vanguard of what was to be a worldwide socialist movement.
If you look at Hitler’s domestic policies, such as they were, they were socialist both in policy and, to a lesser extent, in execution. When I say a lesser extent, that is largely a function of Hitler’s reach exceeding his grasp (his vision of “Greater Germania”, for example).
The truly sad fact, and one that you and another poster on the thread astutely pointed out, is that Bush and the Republican Party (albeit with the help of the Democrats) have already pretty much “socialized” America in the last few months. I don’t see Obama coming in and doing anything worse than has already been done.
Interestingly, Hitler, Mussolini and FDR were pretty much working off the same socialist playbook when it came to reviving the economies and fortunes of their respective countries. Obviously, the outcome was markedly different in terms of where Germany, Italy and the US wound up (following WWII), but there is a school of thought that holds that FDR’s policies during the New Deal period were largely failures. It will also be interesting to see the fallout from the policies of these last few months.

I happened on this thread and could not resist the fact that someone quoted a story from WorldNetDaily. I wonder how that bigfoot on ice is doing http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=72299%5B/quote%5D
I’ve been reading this blog for years now and I’m terribly disappointed that this forum has devolved into a haven for the tinfoil hat brigade. Aren’t there already enough sites out there to cater to these gullible people? Accusations, taken as fact – completely absent of proof – has become widely accepted by these people. Since when did Guilty Until Proven Innocent become the norm?
Berg’s Obama Birth Certificate case has been dismissed by a judge.
“Judge R. Barclay Surrick ruled that Berg’s attempts to use certain laws to gain standing to pursue his claim that Obama was not a natural-born citizen were “frivolous and not worthy of discussion.”
I guess they were against frivolous lawsuits before they were for them.
Obviously, character assaults on Judge Surrick have already begun.
Without a doubt, there will be appeal after appeal after appeal… It’s never over with these people.Berg had not one shred of evidence that Obama was not born in Hawaii. He also didn’t have proof that Obama was born anywhere else. Berg needs to stop wasting the taxpayers money and accept that an accusation is NOTHING without proof. At least that’s how I thought it was supposed to work in this country.

“Barack Obama’s campaign killed all interviews with a Florida TV station after Sen. Joe Biden, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, faced tough and critical questions from a reporter at the Orlando station, the Orlando Sentinel reported.”

First comes the censorship, then the blackouts, next the blacklist and the book burning. Change~
