Comparing today’s China to today’s US is not going to be very meaningful and trying to defend the obvious fact US is better than China only demonstrates US insecurity.

The trend is that innovation happens in American/Japan/Europe and the manufacturing is done in China.
Ultimately for the consumer, both are important. If the iPhone cost $1,000 due to being manufactured by union workers in Idaho it wouldn’t have been nearly as popular.
Yes, China has made tremendous progress. But so has America/Europe. They were farther behind so it just looks more significant from over here.
