The-ShovelerParticipant
I have never seen the media so intent on causing a housing market decline, every other article seems to be predicting housing crash LOL.
IMO people waiting for a housing crash like 2008-11 will be probably be disappointed.

75% is used (really really inefficiently) watering crops, (basically just letting it run down watering furrows or using large sprinklers shooting enormous amounts of water several hundred feet through the air).
IMO really all we need to do is fix that.

Just kidding LOL
The-ShovelerParticipantThe rate on the 30-year fixed mortgage slipped to 4.99% from 5.3% the week prior, according to Freddie Mac, sinking below the 5% level for the first time since the week of April 7.

Just kidding.July 29, 2022 at 8:42 AM in reply to: My “suburban compound” search so far: leaning toward Rancho SD. #826461The-ShovelerParticipantI Live in a very rural part of North county (out in the sticks LOL), I am about 7 miles from town.
It’s not for everyone but I like it a lot especially since I have been working remotely the last several years.
Just my two cents.
WalMart delivery still makes it to my door.
The-ShovelerParticipantdup
The-ShovelerParticipantNo ECI
The-ShovelerParticipantI remember visiting co-workers homes in Fort Lauderdale,
These guys were just run of the mill engineering types but they owned nice newer homes right on the intracoastal with boat docks. They used to go diving and Ocean fishing pretty much every week end.July 27, 2022 at 5:16 PM in reply to: Insane rent increases of 30-108% in Austin, Portland, Tacoma #826445The-ShovelerParticipantSome areas in SoCal rents have gone up about the same amount.
The-ShovelerParticipantI used to work for a Fort Lauderdale Based company and had several friends/co-workers based in the Boston and NJ areas.
I spent a lot of time near Boston and in Fort Lauderdale, kind of liked both areas for different reasons in different seasons.

IMO though the China gov will get ahold of the situation before it gets way out of control.
The-ShovelerParticipantMy friends on the east coast often joke that its a state law in NY and NJ that you must move to Florida by your 65th birthday.
The-ShovelerParticipantLOL interesting times for sure.
IMO true RE is a local thing mostly but it is also a national thing if the whole country goes recession.
IMO if housing (nationally) goes into recession the whole thing goes into recession, then the fed will need to start worrying about deflation.
The issue is IMO, the fed wants a housing reset, the problem is there is no such thing as a housing reset that does not take the whole economy with it.
