ParticipantI gotta give threadkiller a sacrifice fly, to keep him from being the last poster, I know he stats these.
Diego it is curious that the posts are somewhat evasive, if either of them post a response and then mention that they found some great company that helped them for a nominal fee, then posted a link I would be impressed with that. A time release spam ad, that would be cool since tax lowering services have been exposed as scams of late. Your spidey senses are very acute.
threadkiller, I know it was said partially in jest, but that is my latest worry, it is the only conspiracy theory i subscribe to, I think think the powers that be may see inflation as the only cure at some point, if it were to happen I would think it was intentional.

Participant
TG,
You are so wrong. You are the better man, and you need to deal with it.
See, you are helping me and others be less bitter and nicer to others.
“I am a great man but I am less of a man…”
Thank you brother, I am pleased that my wine soaked poetry has had a positive influence on you, reading the last couple of posts, it apparently only affected you. I think it’s normal to be a little egocentric, it just gets a little out of hand when people are less happy. Athletes, politicians, bankers, ceo’s, cops, firemen, teachers, did I miss anyone? How about anyone that is not us gets more than they deserve and we get less than we deserve, oh, and nobody appreciates us enough.
I had it all wrong, I knew the recession was coming and I thought it would be good for us as a society. I thought shaking off a little bit of the built up greed and envy that had become omnipresent would be a good thing, I guess for some it gets worse as the times get worse. Maybe it has always been this way, perhaps threads like these are just modern day versions of the angry villagers with pitchforks and torches.
I refuse to end on a down note, this one is for you equalizer. School is starting soon, many of us have kids and may find ourselves interacting with teachers in the coming weeks. Most of them just took a pay cut, they feel as neglected as ever. Instead of making a comment about their benefits or pensions, tell them that you know they are going to do more with less and for less this year, even if it hurts you to say it, even if you just lost your own job or you you hate unions and you hate taxes even if you hate yourself, I promise you it will feel liberating. I’m gonna do it, so do it for me, do it for you, do it for them and do it for your karma. It qualifies as an unsolicited act of kindness to a stranger, so you will get something back, likely 20 fold, so there’s something in it for you. Plus if you make some insulting and morale destroying comment and karma doesn’t punish you, I’m gonna have to and then that will screw up my karma. Scratch that, I’ve been watching too many Dexter episodes, that show makes you feel all justified about dispensing justice. I retract my threat, just be nice, it will feel good. I promise.

ParticipantI know it may have gotten lost in my long rant, but nobody mentioned the inordinate amount of californians on the dole, that is where the real propblem lies, not the pensions. All public safety, fire, police, prisons, courts, prosecutors, etc. make up only 11% of the expenditures while health and human services for the poor make up 1/3rd. All states pay for public safety and in similar fashion, but CA pays far more per capita for welfare than any other, not just a little, but multiples. I’ll repeat it, 11% of the nations population, but 33% of the nations welfare recipients (this includes all form of public assistance combined). Out of 50 states, we are #1 in per capita welfare, double that of the state ranked #10, 3 times the median.
Elimimate every public safety employee and their benefits tomorrow, eliminate every public safety pensioner and you won’t have even solved the state’s defecit. So who wants to touch the third rail, it’s right there, free money to people who don’t work, many who came to this state from other places because of it’s generous benefits. By the way we have twice the per capita on welfare as Michigan
here’s a fun slideshow http://www.cnbc.com/id/31910310/
but it only calculates pure payouts, the actual budget is 10x that amount when you factor in medical care and all programs (health and human services budget), wanna talk about what we can no longer afford? Wanna guess where those cops and firemen are spending mosting of their time, dealing with the poor, our #1 import from other states and countries.

ParticipantYeah, it’s about two or three months from being downgraded to “bedtime story” status. For three years I’ve heard the tale in various forms, it never happened like they said, unlikely it ever will because now it wont even provide enough inventory for a “normal” year.
I took these links from posts that schizo made over a year ago, not sure who runs this data site but the informations is quite telling. Back then, the numbers went down every month, now they show a slight rise in price and decline in inventory for the past six months. In late 2007, san diego inventory was twice what it is today.

Same thing for riverside county.

manipulation or market forces, it looks like the ship has started to sail.
