SD AttorneyParticipant
We actually sound more alike than I thought Meadandale. I actually paid for college and grad school on my own. It took me four years to finish grad school because I worked full time during the day and aside from my first year took night classes. I am still paying for it.
My questions were targeted at boomers (which I thought you were), not you, therefore your answers are completely irrelevant to the point I was trying to make, i.e. the societal differences btwn the generations. The fact that you couldn’t understand that is pretty hilarious. But, thanks anyway for your clever insights.

SD AttorneyParticipantMeadandale, I can only assume that you are a member of Generation Greed (i.e. Baby Boomers).
How much was the average 4 year college when you were 18?
How much was the average starter home when you got out of college?
How many banks/credit institutions specifically marketed to you everyday while you were in High School and College?
How many Best Buys, Wal-Marts, Shopping Malls, etc. were located in your neighborhood growing up?
LOL.

SD AttorneyParticipantNice post Bugs, your right. It is my peers that set monetary policy in America. It is my peers that mail themselves credit card applications daily. It is my peers that charge an arm and a leg for rent. It is my peers that control the Fortune 500 companies and then decide to pay themselves a crappy wage. It is my peers that run mortgage brokerage houses. It is my peers that sell themselves used cars at absurd interest rates. It is my peers that sit in Congress. It is my peers that move their companies overseas to avoid paying taxes and fair wages. It is my peers that own Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, Albertson’s, Von’s, Exxon, Microsoft, etc. etc.
What planet are you on?

SD AttorneyParticipantMISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!
This article needs to be saved. Let’s email the author Dean Calbreath periodically over the next few years to remind him how asinine his article is.
It truly reminds me of when Bush stated Mission Accomplished four years ago in Iraq.
SD AttorneyParticipantI lived within three blocks of that home within the last two years. Very very very noisy. Especially if it is near Ingraham. Ingraham is a nightmare.
The problem is there are several enormous apartment complexes within blocks of that home that are home to thousands, yes thousands, of drunk & crazy college kids. So, if you like being awoken at 3 am on a Tuesday night because someone is arguing about the price of a case of Natural Light Ice then it is the place for you.
There are some nicer homes in the area though and it is close to the bay.
Condo’s in this area are doomed, however, sfr’s may hold their value a little better if it’s on the right street.
SD AttorneyParticipantNice post jg.
I am a craigslist junkie and I look at the boat section often, and I have noticed that boats have increased substantially. One could argue that summer is approaching and that people sell boats this time of the year because of that.
However, I looked at boats last year at this exact time and distinctly remember that there was no significant change in the amount of listings.
Also, look at the used car section. It too has exploded, many people advertising for you to take over their payments.
Forget about buying real estate in ’07. 2007 is the year of buying used luxury items at wholesale prices from FB’s.
SD AttorneyParticipantWrite him a letter!!!
Do not call him. When you end up in court you can show the judge the letter with the certified mail return receipt.
I promise you the landlord will forget about your phone call by next week.
It can be a friendly letter, just advising him that you saw him at your property and that you never received notice that he was coming over. Make it clear and to the point.
My old douchebag landlord used to come over twice a week and pretend that he was watering the plants. But, really he was just checking on the place, which I understand why, since it was in Mission Beach and there were plenty of dirtbags around. However, it was really annoying.
Anyway, I sued him in small claims after he withheld our security deposit for no apparent reason. WE WON!!!! Our whole security deposit back, plus two months worth of rent.
Trust me. Judges have no sympathy for dirtbag landlords, and Judges love documents, they don’t love it when you say I called him immediately after the incident and asked what he was doing there. Landlord replies, “He never called me”
WRITE a friggin letter to the dirtbag. Tell him that you will call the cops next time he is there if he doesn’t give you 24 hour notice.
SD AttorneyParticipantExactly my point.
David Lereah is a joke. But, that doesn’t mean the NAR has to be a joke. But, guess what, it is.
Because no RE professionals seem to give a damn about it.
Notice how Repulicans are separating themselves from Bush to stay afloat. RE professionals should be doing the same thing with Lereah.
They should demand his resignation immediately, or else, the NAR will continue to degrade and become even more laughable.
SD AttorneyParticipantThe NAR has offically ruined it’s reputation (not that it had a great one in the first place).
By ignoring the RE bubble and by prancing around statistics the NAR has become a laughable organization.
I doubt there is anyone on this blog that puts any faith in what the NAR says.
David Lereah has discredited the organization and made RE professionals look like jack asses.
I don’t understand why more RE professionals are not calling for Lereah’s resignation and attempting to replace him with someone with more credibility and character.
Any other national organization that had a “leader” like that would have taken action to replace him long ago.
The guy is a joke and he has made the NAR a joke. I feel sorry for you RE professionals, but I feel more sorry for the fact that you RE professionals aren’t doing anything to save the integrity of your organization. If there is any left….

I watched this documentary that I linked to below about the legality of Federal Income Tax. Which by the way is a “voluntary” tax. The video is about 1 hour and 45 minutes, but it is very well done and informative. It speaks at length about the establishment of the Federal Reserve, but the primary focus is on the fact that there is no law that requires the average American to pay income tax on their wages. This movie blew my mind. I think you can paste the link in your browser.

March 14, 2007 at 9:51 AM in reply to: Get fired up! Congress considering bailing out SUB PRIME! #47642SD AttorneyParticipantYou heard it here first.
The U.S. Government has done so many things over the past 6 years that have really caused me to reconsider why the hell I continue to put up with it.
I am a responsible tax payer and did not get into a toxic loan because after conducting basic math that I learned in third grade I knew that I couldn’t afford it.
Therefore, if Congress does in fact use American tax dollars to bail out suckers who signed up for these sub-prime loans I AM LEAVING THIS COUNTRY FOR GOOD.
