ParticipantHLS (or anyone) what does the 5 year ARM mean against say the 2-3 year? Are less people willing to take those? The biggest downer I see to this list is the 90%, do you agree that is a tougher requirement? 540 is still pretty low, but I am assuming the documentation thing is pretty big too.

ParticipantYuck is this how homes are built out there? I thought one reason to move so far away was to extend your elbows and establish some space.
I also understand the hip urban idea of putting garages in the back but what’s the point with the homes so close. Might as well just go on and attach them and then you could fit one more per block.

ParticipantI have been watching the market in Cardiff, and so far you seem to get more house for the money than you did last year, though listings are all over the place. No way am I considering buying around here, I just extended my lease.
Mission Hills I thought wouldn’t be a bad place to go once my kids are out of school. Technically I could move since my kids are going to enroll in private school soon however I don’t want them to be a long way from school, or else I’d trade houses with you.
I literally went the opposite way of diversity, and looked at areas that matched my demographic when moving out to SD. However, you don’t escape all child rearing problems up here. Namely I think you have to more vigilant about watching for signs of drug use, because many of the shiftless kids with wealthy parents are into the drug scene.

ParticipantSo is GetStucco involved at all on this site? I see that name so often on Ben Jones (Rancho Bernardo) but don’t see anything here.

ParticipantPG chirping in here and sorry for putting up that post on mutilation (though it does boil my blood).
My question is for Rustico (or anyone really) and mostly it is because my understanding of the Sunni/Shia conflict is fairly minimal. However my reading of your rant is that you downplay this conflict as being political in nature. My limited interpretation suggests this divide is much more serious than say the Irish/English protestant/Catholic divide. Or, am I am misunderstanding you?
My thoughts on why Sadaam was so brutal was precisely to quell or keep the factions from killing one another, using whatever means necessary. Isn’t there one camp of Bush critics who consider this area as incapable of civility, and therefore not worthy of losing men in battle?

ParticipantAre we not understating the loss somewhat? The $700 of rent under her payment seems to be added back in but what about selling costs? Also realistically, every payment made prior to her renting it out might as well be added to the loss.
And let’s not forget the California phenomenon of not counting the property tax as part of the monthly expense since most seem to pay it as one or two lump sums. In this seller’s case, if Property tax was factored into her mortgage payment then it doesn’t matter.

ParticipantNot that this has anything to do with the discussion, but apparently the UK is wrestling with a problem of female circumcision. More like female mutilation, but ahh what do we care, it’s just part of their culture. To denigrate this practice would suggest that I think western culture is superior which is simply not the case.
So hack away with those sharpened stones, Muzzies!!
All Praise be to Allah
