CardiffBaseballParticipant
We are in Sanford all the time and the stadium we play is in the Ghetto. So far no issues.
With each passing day I get more and more fed up, I went from being devastated for the parents all day Sunday to just incensed at the loony ass arguments put forth by the “Social Justice” crowd.
We know the media completely lied about Zimmerman. The FBI is advising holder not to bring a civil rights lawsuit against the guy because they investigated him and found zero evidence of him being a racist.
Without the phony racist-stalker hoopla nobody would even give a shit about this case. The media is going to pay for it particularly NBC but still the language being used by Sharpton and the others ignores all of the lies and fabrications.
I am sorry a neighborhood watch guy seriously wanting to protect his neighborhood is not stalking. Tragic situation, no winners.
But listen to the marchers now. Some of the most idiotic, nonsensical bullshit I’ve ever heard. “Whites are hunting out babies”. Huh? And all the nonsense based on a lie.

And by all means let’s carefully watch one another. Started watching my neighbor’s movements, that guy left for work an hour early today. Seemed really strange so I asked his wife who was jogging by why Frank left so early today. She said he goes a men’s prayer group, but I just shook my head and thought sure he is dear. “Noted”. Watch out for that guy he’s also in the NRA.|link=node|align=left|width=100|height=31]
CardiffBaseballParticipantUR, are you telling me you didn’t flip on an internet news feed to see what the hell this was all about?
Of course the shit is about to hit the fan as the Islamists aren’t going to go quietly but that was a wonderful scene the other night.
CardiffBaseballParticipantSpeaking of which we apparently vastly underestimated the will of the Egyptian people.
Pretty damn impressive site over there today if you ask me. I am sure it’s going to get nasty outside of Cairo over the next several weeks but I found this very inspiring.
CardiffBaseballParticipant
Cardiff,
I am so sorry to hear about your wife’s situation. May you and your family stay strong and enjoy every moment of every day together, and I sincerely hope you have many happy days/years together. None of us ever knows when our time is up, even if we’re perfectly healthy today. No matter how hard some people try to convince themselves that they have control over it all, it is 90% luck — I’ve seen too much to think otherwise. Fuck cancer. :(
Damn right!! The difference is she is absolutely facing, we all know we are going to die, but in the back of our minds we’ll make it to 75 or whatever. Whereas the Stage IV person is having to face it head on for a while.
CardiffBaseballParticipantThanks BG, it’s not always easy. I don’t like having to watch her weaken. A big strong 5’10” swimmer girl, deadlifting 280 at the crossfit down in Encinitas, just a few years back, now getting weakened with each passing day. She’s 45 her sister died at 42 of Ovarian, I am just hoping she hangs on long enough to bury her parents though they seem very at peace with everything. Stage IV people, know there isn’t a cure so they stop going to the pink ribbon walks. At this point it’s all about surviving as long as you can.
She told me please don’t put in my obituary that she “went peacefully”. She fought like a mofo, is what it ought to say.
CardiffBaseballParticipantCurveball of a question.
In these days of sequestration looming, in the defense world, what do you guys think of working for an insurer? I’ve seen a few things in my niche at a couple of Blue Cross type places, are they in a fairly safe growth mode for now or do we expect that all to grind to a halt soon.
BTW my wife went Stage 4 earlier this year with Mets to the spine. My company plan went to this excruciatingly high-deductible type plan where our max out is now 9000 on top of about 5k in premiums and of course you do get nickle-dimed on stuff. Seems like I always make just enough to avoid deducting medical expenses, but with all the gas and tolls to MD Anderson downtown, it takes a toll.
The thing is my youngest is 16 now entering his Jr. year and she’s going to fight as long as she can she wants to see him graduate, much like the post above. The worst thing is she’s continued to work but we are looking at how she can opt out of that. Certainly if another Bone Met comes along she’s got to file for disability and get out of there. (her working pays for the child’s HS however).
Anyway I see some insurers out there are ramping up in my area. Kind of tempting but I don’t know what the future holds with them. Single Payer would of course kill them off right?
CardiffBaseballParticipant
Paramount: I hear you and wouldn’t claim a corner on the truth, but some shit is just so bugfuck crazy you have to call it out.
In the blast engineering business, we have our share of crazies, I’m talking people that claim that Oklahoma City 1995 and 9/11 were inside jobs and they can provide “proof” in the form of data and graphs and photos. Some of this proof can actually look fairly convincing, but, when subjected to scrutiny, it falls apart.
And to bring this thread full circle, you can find youtube videos claiming it was SAIC who helped engineer 911 with a special explosive paint they used on the WTC complex.
CardiffBaseballParticipantReally the Rand Paul/Ted Cruz type libertarians are the future. The NeoCon types are the dinosaurs at this point. McLame and Graham ripping him for grandstanding is so typical.
If you watched any of this, you’d see very coherent arguments for forth for ending the Bush-Obama incursion on our individual liberites. Even the ACLU backed him on this issue, but like I said if you watched there are a whole host of things that will be questioned. TSA, attack on the Bill of Rights, as it pertains to due process, unwarranted wiretapping etc. I do think the young bucks are the wave of the future.
CardiffBaseballParticipant
Why did I have to grow up in a time when we were supposed to be ashamed of our “diversity stories”? Woe is me.
Was I suggesting he be ashamed? We are looking to save a buck and considering other alternatives.
CardiffBaseballParticipantKid is thinking of playing baseball at a “traditionally African-American” university. With his HS grades, he gets merit money. Whatever he gets in baseball money could cover a good chunk of the rest. Strange way to go, but most of the team is either white or latino. If it means very little SL debt, what do I care. Not sure how valued the education will be, but hell if he ever applied to law school he’d have an interesting diversity story to tell. Who knows, it’s just one of the options available, we shall see. Paranoid as hell about Loan debt since we still owe so much.
CardiffBaseballParticipantWith all due respect it was just cycling. Most of us didn’t even tune in before Lance, and don’t now.
I know in a SD thread it’s likely some of you are into it. Then again the bigger question is why does Cardiff feel the need to weigh in a topic he cares nothing about? Better to just dummy up? Maybe I have issues.
CardiffBaseballParticipantYea a good squat does nothing to prevent a bullet or shell from ripping apart the flesh. Survival instincts must kick in.
CardiffBaseballParticipantI knew it, I just knew it…. Dangit…
