. . . Undergrad is more traditional dorms with meal plans
http://hds.ucsd.edu/housing/newundergrad.asp%5B/quote%5DUCGal, in regards to undergrads, $9041 IS over $1000 mo. for a 3-person dorm room.
http://hds.ucsd.edu/housing/roomtype.asp
And this does not include meal plans, which are $65-100 week.
Your 2010 Housing contract includes one of three Dining Dollar Plans based on your Housing assignment:
The 3400 Full Meal Plan (100 Dollars per week)
The 2893 ResHal Minimum Meal Plan (85 Dollars per week)
The 2220 Apartment Minimum Meal Plan (65 Dollars per week)IMHO, living on campus at UCSD is too cramped and expensive for undergrads, and probably DOES NOT compete with the space and LR/kitchen access of an off-campus apt.

I don’t disagree – the grad apartments are a much better deal.August 14, 2010 at 6:57 PM #590998UCGalParticipant
IMHO, living on campus at UCSD is too cramped and expensive for undergrads, and probably DOES NOT compete with the space and LR/kitchen access of an off-campus apt.
UCGal, speaking of grad students, your “friends” that went back to school for their MBA’s, as you referred to here:
b-school = business school, more specifically, an MBA (vs undergrad.) Enough of my friends have gone to “b-school” and changed careers, I thought the term was pretty widely known…
(emphasis added)
. . . did they actually obtain jobs with their MBA degrees (or raises at work commensurate with possessing an MBA)? How old were they when they graduated with an MBA? How old when they got a promotion at work due to the new degree? Did any have to relocate in order to land employment utilizing their *new* degree?
I don’t personally qualify for MBA candidacy but was just wondering if going to all this trouble (and cost) at this late date was actually worth it for them . . . monetarily . . . because IMO, that’s really the ONLY consideration when you are nearing the end of your working life and preparing for retirement.
