have you considered Chula Vista or Santee? if not, why not? =)
I think one their priorities was being close to the beach, so the eastern areas of SD are a bit of a drive to get there.
SF2SD, what do you think of Alameda? It seems to have nice areas and not so nice. And the schools seem to be all over the map. I’d appreciate any thoughts.

April 30, 2011 at 10:39 AM #690609sdrealtorParticipantPlease bear in mind that I am far from an expert on Santluz and just presenting my impressions of it as an outsider. Please do your own due diligence.
My impression of Santaluz is that its a place for people who like a perfect, pristine existence sheltered away from any diversity. It is beautiful and family friendly but to me it looks more like Phoenix than San Diego. I am a big fan of the beach areas which have a greater sense of place and of history. For me it doesnt make sense to live in san Diego and not be near the beach. I like to go to the beach sometimes just to watch the sunset into the ocean. That is why I am here. I like the diversity and funkiness of the beach areas. I prefer to live among smart, friendly folks who value those things and like to live below their means rather than wearing their means as a badge of honor.
I could be dead wrong on Santaluz but to me it is too sterile of an environment.

My impression (so take it for what it is worth) is that is doesn’t compare to places you mentioned in your last post. Not somewhere I would look if I were searching. But, again, that’s all based on impression rather than fact.
