Honestly I am here to defend the truth and to help anyone who asks for help. When I see a stark raving lunatic passing along bad information I cant sit quietly. Though i have worked with a few Piggs this isnt and never has been a profit making endeavour for me. I just want to help.

VonBeeler,Thanks for taking the time to post that about Santaluz. I know that development takes some flack sometimes from some people but what you described and that sense of “community” is what we hear from people that live or lived in that community.
We’re taking a serious look at some properties there next month while we are in town.
Can I ask you what your biggest 2 or 3 negatives would be about the development? Besides the higher HOA and Mello Roos do you see any downsides/negatives at all?
Also, is it really only 15 minutes to the beach? I’ve read some realtor’s saying things like 10-15 minutes to the beach but I figured that was no way possible. Can I ask what beaches you are referring to that are only 15 minutes away?
Thanks for your great post.[/quote]
My pleasure.
Its always fun to tell someone what you believe strongly in. However everyone believes strongly their communities/areas are the most preferred so obviously I’m biased. But I’ve lived in the areas I spoke about and we simply picked what we thought was best after living in the area 10 years. It is 7 miles to coast at Del Mar Beach or Solana Beach. I drive through Rancho Sante Fe because virtually no stop lights at around 50mph so it is 15 minutes. Going through Carmel Valley Rd through Carmel Valley a lot of lights could be just a bit more than 15 but not 20. It takes me 22 minutes to get to my office 11 miles away at I805/Mira Mesa exit. I personally would not want to be farther than 15 minutes to the beach.
There is another Gated/golf community just North of Santaluz called The Crosby. Similar to Santaluz but for me a little to far out from my office and other access restrictions. The best way to see the areas for a weekend is have a broker drive you around. They can elso help find rental and purchase when you are ready. I can refer someone that specializes in these areas.
My wife is registering our 5 year old for Kindergarten today for Willow Grove Elementary. They also have registration tomorrow.
For me the only downside is the restriction to palm trees due to the natural look and feel the community wants to maintain. I would like a large Canary Island Palm or two in my front. But thats the only small downside other than mellow Roos
