Except government employment is a *huge* part of the San Diego economy!
Government need not be such a big part of economy. Government is sucking money that could go to private innovation and entrepreneurship. Basic econ 101.
What does bureaucracy bring us? Deficit spending that our grand-kids will have to pay for.
If we wanted big government, we would live in France.

Or it could go to buying a rich guy a condo in Paris.
Basic econ 101.
At least local Government employees spend the major of their earnings in county.
Edit: Btw, I spent a year at a startup in San Diego. Pissed 25 million of venture capital down the drain and never made a dime. Not my idea of a good capital investment.
