So you don’t think mommy and daddy should ever be discussed either?Parent(s) or Guardian(s) works just fine.
Unless parents happen to both be men or both be women. Hence, you’re homophobic. I’m not sure why you won’t just acknowledge it. Your words make it pretty clear.
What? You’re making no sense at all.
Let me say it again: Regardless of the home arrangement, parent(s) or guardian(s) at all times.
Gay Marriage (or any marriage for that matter): It’s none of my business who marries who – but don’t talk to my elementary school age kid about it in any official public capacity.
BTW, I really don’t care what you label me at all.
Seriously, I don’t.
I’m making no sense? You say it’s ok to mention parents. Or Guardians. Guess what? Your kids know that people have a sex. Male or female. But you want to hide that from them so they aren’t damaged? Pretty much the very definition of “political correctness” that you so hate.
How exactly might they be damaged?

ParticipantI didn’t label you as a homophobe, i suggested homophobia may be socially engineered.
That said, I am not ready to say I agree with a demonstration like that in the video of the little girl reading her essay. I can see pro’s though lots of them. I would not consider it damaging to my kids. Those kids are not 5 they are 7 or 8.
My 4th and 5th grader are coming home obviously having learned the language that relates to sexual preference from other kids….most of it cruel. They learned faggot in the 2nd grade. We are working on it. Can’t avoid the 1rst grader from picking up some of both what they learn at school and what I have to say about it.
Like to hear from those who are certain the schools presentation via the little girl is fine though.

Participanti wonder how one would break the news about gay people to kids after so much time, assuming they hadn’t heard the news. it’s difficult to imagine the speech…
it’s difficult to imagine the kid not laughing at the parent if it were held back for so long too…
i guess, unless they lived ina bubble. and never accidentally caught an epidode or ad for Modern Family…

Participanti have been called faggot and sissy, way back in the dayearly 70sand im not gay. those dudes got it wrong. i was just kind of weird. there should be education on that in school. just because the kid is kind of weak and odd and dweeby, and way overly intellectual even back then, doesn’t mean he does not want to have sex with girls….
November 16, 2013 at 7:58 PM #768029Coronita
ParticipantAs a side note…
I think you folks need to worry more about what comes out of other kid’s mouth than what the educators are teaching frankly.
My elementary school kid in the lower grade comes home to inform me that a classmate at recess learned from her brother that boys have a penis and girls have a pussy.
And coincidentally, when she told me this, we were sitting on a park bench, and she asked me what the word fuck means that was written on the bench.
And then asks me if she could use the word during her rhyme patterns with luck ,duck, buck at school….
Nice…

You didn’t use the “I can do your homework for you so you don’t fail, Ms. Hotty”, did you?

We don;’t have TV my kids know about gay people. We were close to a couple until one of them passed. My kids visited them in hospice. What they don’t know about is how much turmoil there is in our society over it. …or how much ignorance there is , perhaps from many sides.

Participantthe stuff from other kids is going to be way worse than whatever comes from school.
i still vividly remember an afternoon looking at Playboy magazines with Dario, the much older Super’s son in a hidden cove in our apt building, with other boys, and some very raunchy talk. it was so thrilling. i twas perhaps one of th emsot intense moments of my life. i think i was 7? maybe 9?

Caution: The following video could be disturbing to those with a conscious/morals.
Yeah, good thing you’re not homophobic.
It just goes to show how far down the rat hole society is when you can’t take a position that:
No form of gender relationship issues of any type should be discussed or even suggested to elementary school children.
Again: ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN!!
Without being labeled a homophobe.
Sick. Really Sick.
Nice attempt at misdirection.
You said:
“The following video could be disturbing to those with a conscious/morals.”
…and thus, you equated being gay with lacking morals or “a conscious.”
This was after the histrionics about a radical gay agenda, and saying that you were “sickened,” because a reading assignment mentioned that two women adopted a child.
So yeah, you sure come across as homophobic to me.

You misread. “have a sex”, i.e., they are either male or female. Not “have sex”.

ParticipantBBC did a video called Living with Cavemen. Lots of heterosexual stuff , but no homosexual stuff. It’s a fraud , I want my money back.
