That’s great stuff. Unfortunately, the internet has brought into existence a new era of ignorance, and there are plenty of people who would actually read that, believe it, and spread it. (First, they’d have to miss the obvious sarcasm, but they’re not looking for sarcasm. They’re looking for fodder for their attacks.) And next thing you know, it’s an established fact among the vast wasteland of fools who believe whatever they read (and want to believe) on the internet.
Before we had (somewhat) reliable news reporting, we had only rumors and propaganda. For a few decades, we had rumors and propaganda and some relatively reliable news outlets. Now we have rumors, propaganda, Fox News, a few reliable news outlets, and the behemoth internet. The internet, where any jackass who can type can put up a blog and type whatever the hell they want. And where millions of people read and believe whatever the hell they want regardless of whether it stands up to even a little bit of scrutiny.
