Bear I am certainly hoping that nobody is happy about the crisis but the original post I made was done exactly because I didn’t thing that was the case. I am to lazy to look or search back but I do indeed recall people making posts about how much they cannot wait for the pain train to come. How they were well prepared for it and that they would not be affected. Again, I would refer to coops comments in this thread which are everyone does indeed get affected one way or another.
Fortunately there were only a few like that, I think for the most part more rational thinkers like PW and I am sure yourself are more of the opinion that yes, this has to happen but at least view it with more trepidation then anything else.
The thread is not about strategizing for what people should or should not do. Of course I agree that cash is king and my advice to anyone considering buying a house now is the same as it has always been since 2003 which is if the decision is simply based on financial concerns only, then no I would not recommend to anyone to buy a home. The bottom is not here and based on where you want to buy it may not happen for a few years now.
Also I don’t believe I have pulled any curtain back and exposed anything. I have never even alluded to any bottom in any comments I have ever
made. Conversely I have been posting that I am reconsidering the bottom to be FARTHER out then my original thoughts when I started posting back in 2006.********
PW I completely agree with the analysis you posted of essentially what got us here. Yes yes yes, severe asset inflation and we are just beginning to pay for it. The measures taken by our “parents” as you so aptly put it have thus far been abysmal. Indeed the legislation to give a single person access to distribute taxpayer money with essentially no jurisprudence and pretty much 100% immunity from prosecution is REALLY scary. Doesn’t that scare the hell out of you? It does me.
********
and Breeze….
Sorry but I am finished with you. Once again you are exposing yourself as a bitter person who believes your lack of success is due to the fault of others.
As always your post is laughable and full of bitterness. Go smoke some more pot Breeze.

November 12, 2008 at 11:45 PM #303601temeculaguyParticipantIn my true egomaniacal colors, I need you to stop blaming the “pain trainers” as those who wished this on us. I coined that phrase here, and since my world is very small, to me, I coined it everywhere. It was meant as a metaphor for the geographic nature of the bubble burst, from the outside towards the middle. It was to explain how the exhurbs would fall first and the train would eventually pull inot every station (town), just not at the same time.
On the thread content, wishing doesn’t make it happen, evaluating the signs and signals, then taking evasive action is all the pain trainers do. I wished the chargers would have a great season but it didn’t happen, I wished Brady would get hurt and it did happen. So is Brady my fault and Norv Turner my karmatic punishment. It all boild down to reading between the lines and making plans, that’s it.
Side Note SDR, seriously, drink the laker koolaid, I watched the whole game tonight against the hornets and the lakers were on game 2 of back 2 back road games and I am ready to piss off Denny Green and crown their asses.

heheheheh… seriously though, please read my original post. I guess I am confused as to where in my original post I was putting blame out on anyone. We are here for the reasons PW put forth. Bear mentioned blame also in his reference to my post and I am wondering where that is mentioned in the post. Anyways as I mentioned in one of the follow ups, all I am trying to put forth is that I am not nearly as “excited” as some of those who enthusiastically want it “Brought On” as soon as possible.
Also statistically speaking there will be posters here on this site who will lose thier jobs. I am just stating a logical fact based on numbers and probabilities. Who will it be? Don’t know.
None of this is anything that “excites” me.
So in the end I simply was trying to put forth:
a – a hell of alot more collateral damage then anyone will care to acknowledge.
b – a very very real possibility that our government will not handle this well and that we will be in for a much longer down time then anybody anticipates.
c – that no matter how safe anyone thinks they are, ultimately you just never know.

Agreed with your Bynum analysis from a prior thread. Kid looks good so far… he is so damn young and I just hope like you said he doesn’t get hurt. The NBA season is long man. Lets see how we look come April and we can talk.
Looks like it is gonna be an ugly Sunday for us.
