They should be given the money on the condition that the name of the company be changed to “The Ministry of Cars” and that it become 100% public owned. We could appoint Lee Iacocca (if he is still alive that is) as “Car Czar”.
Learn how to grow beets, comrades. They aren’t bad once you get used to eating them.
And you will need to get used to eating them.

February 17, 2009 at 4:07 PM #348142Rt.66Participant“This is getting absolutely ridiculous! 30 billion for what? No one is buying cars especially GM cars that are a piece of shit”
Say what? Is that you Mr. Toyota? Say what you want about the bailout but GM makes wonderful cars.
In the immortal words of Clint Eastwood:
“Would it kill ya to buy American?”I have a Buick SUV with 130k miles on it and it has never, not ever, been in the shop for a repair. It has no rattles, runs and drives like new, holds 7 people and gets 23mpg. Just how reliable does an American car need to be to get some respect?
Corporate America has been on a campaign for 30 years to convince us that things built in America are crappy so we would not fight the offshoring of our jobs.
Anyone who buys the American cars are junk BS is a tool of corporate America and Japan inc.
