I probably wouldn’t buy a house across from a school. Too much activity for me.
But I can see why it would be appealing to some people, and at least you could be sure what you look at each day would be reasonably maintained and free of odd remodeling jobs/boats/RVs/rusted out hulks/barking dogs.
Sample it one day. If the traffic and noise doesn’t bother you, go for it!

We checked it out this moring during school drop off time. There had been > 200 vehicles passed by. It was noisy, congested, and the air was probably polluted due to the many stops.
Definitely won’t spend $1.1M to ask for this problem.

December 16, 2009 at 7:07 PM #494823sdrealtorParticipantThat’s all it takes to see if you can take the location. If you live in a house near a school, always sell in the Summer when buyers cant do this. Many will rule it out but enough will mentally minimize the potential traffic and buy anyway.
