ParticipantI agree with the others about the tub… You need to have at least 1 tub per house – but not necessarily in the master. People with kids will not buy a house without a tub.
We’re in the planning stages (as part of hubby’s major plumbing endeavor this week) and have a layout that will be dual sink, shower, toilet. Our current layout is shower, single sink, toilet.
Dual sinks is a nice feature. We’ve survived 11 years of marriage without them – but there will be less jostling when we’re doing the morning routine.

ParticipantI’ve been to a pig roast where the pig was basically buried in a pit of charcoal. I have to say – it was SUPER yummy.

Participant

UCGal, you’re lucky to have an architect husband to fix up your house.
Are you keeping track of all the work and how much it would cost “retail”?
LOL!
Funny, I was just about to post the same thing to UCGal.
What a lucky, lucky gal you are to have an architect husband who is willing to get his hands dirty…and who knows what he’s doing! Wow. :)
I *am* lucky. And I remind myself everyday. Not just for the architect part… he’s a really good guy with a great sense of humor. Very lucky indeed.(And no, he didn’t pay me to post that. LOL)

Participant
Does anyone know what new things were introduced this century (i.e. after 2000) in buildings?
Perhaps better energy efficiency?
Title 24 (energy codes) have definitely gotten stricter in the 2000. They roll out new standards every couple of years.January 19, 2011 at 3:37 PM in reply to: OT: length of lifetime for different decades built houses #656032UCGal
