ParticipantTemecula is a place of less suffering.
what we think we view as enjoyment or pleasure is actually just a temporary abatement of the fear, anxiety and pain that pervades our lives.
Temecula provides for longer periods of abatement than the surrounding areas.
there, that ought to bring the real-estate buying hordes to us, paramount.

Participantso wait–if life were long, we shouldn’t enjoy ourselves? I’m not sure I get why the length of life matters, particularly if it’s short. seems like if it were longer, you’d definitely want to enjoy it, or at least not suffer, since you’d be suffering more over a longer period of time. I guess if life were a lot longer, you could not enjoy a substantial chunk, but still get as much pleasure as you would have with the shorter life or perhaps even more pleasure. For instance, if life were 160 years, you could have 90 crap years, and 70 good ones, and still come out ahead over a guy who lived to be 70 and had a better percentage of 60 good years and 10 crap ones–but less overall happy yeas–60 less happy years!.
life is long; enjoy yourself?
life is one lifespan. enjoy yourself.
i think really the main goal is not to enjoy one’s self, but to avoid suffering.

Participantnot really dissing temecula. The comps were higher than expected. That’s saying something good about temecula. true denigration woulda been, shoot, it’s costing me money to get out of this craptown.
I have a feeling the poster is going to miss temecula.
Sure, there’s no place like home, but home is often overrated. You go back home and think, ack, what the hell am I doing here. home sucks! that’s why we leave home in the first place. we are sick of home!
Whereas here, in temecula, you’re not home, but you think, clean air, space, decent enough people, natural beauty…
we were down in san diego this weekend and I was thinking, san diego kinda sucks in many ways. just looking around. gritty and gross…no disrespect, Imean but people’s houses are hanging over major thoroughfares. it just seems sort of desperate, crowded, packed and too much. but that’s justa highly subjective viewpoitn of one dude at one distinct moment of life.

Participantour experience, all in the hazy glow of retrospectiveintrospectiveness…..im skipping some years in here cause the numbers elude me…
3 years in tiny student married apt housing. no kids. extremely happy and satisfied.
5 years in 1400 sq ft super nicely renovated mobile home, with 2 kids. extremely happy and satsified
4 years in 1500 sq ft prefab house. 3 kids extremely happy and satisfied.
3 years in 3300 sq ft mansion. 3 kids, one leaving for college. extremely happy and satisfied …but it’s kind of a pain to sweep and mop the damn downstairs tile floor….

ParticipantHarveston is great. You can walk to the mall, bars. I wanted to live there but I’m too messy. I’d think it’d make a good rental, area-wise.
I’ve changed my handle to 6packscaredy. Squatting goals are out right now; the immediate goal is to have a 6 pack. On my abdomen. The outer part of my abdomen. I’ve always wanted one and I am getting very very close. Been dieting hard for four months. I have the top two of the 6 pack fairly visible. That lower belly fat in the last to go but pretty much all other fat is gone. I’m closing in on it. It’d just be a cool thing to have, I think. And they’re free! In fact, they cost much less money than maintaining a 6 pack cover.
Based on the graph I produced of my waist size and weight over the last months, I predict I will have a sixpack, if I can stay on track by mid september.

Participant

I’m part of Temecula, sort of, and I’m not insulted, not even 3 nanograms, even though I do suffer from Temecula pride. I love the city of temecula, but can understand why others might feel it sucks so bad.
Regret may be totally unrelated to temecula, even. COuld simply be you turned a certain age,, or the feng shui of the house is wrong, or heck, maybe because you hadn’t met me. I regret lots of things and the basis of those regrets may have connections to other things i couldnt even begin to understand.
your reality (and even my reality) does not affect the virtues or vices (assumign something like a virtue even has an independent existence of our realities) of the city of temecula.
that said, maybe it’s not you–maybe it’s us…is there anything temecula can do to cheer you up? Maybe i can rally temecula. maybe we could try harder. is it a zoning issue? or just a vibe?
Thank you so much for your post, put a smile on my face! You are like the countless other nice people we have met while we have been living here- funny and kind. We have made some great friends here. Paramount seems to be the exception to the rule. There is nothing wrong with Temecula, just not for us. Like another poster said, we truly should have rented here first.
Oh come on, let’s get real. there is definitely something wrong with Temecula. There’s something wrong with lots of places. But the good outweighs the bad! life is sweet wherever you live.

Might be legal challenges tho.
That’s thinking way too small. Let’s just genetically modify all children so that they are smart, beautiful, and relatively homogeneous. Then we won’t have to worry about race, poverty, and everything else that is unfair about the world. Sounds like a Marxist Utopia.
I wish I had better genes. I kind of suck.
Having trouble getting to 300lb squat.
Got stuck and didn’t push thru 250.
But I am doing pull ups nicely w/ 52.5 pounds on a dip belt. Want to be able to do one pull up w my youngest kid holding on to me , about 90 lbs. very close, almost got one rep last week. If I can get that and just keep it going while he gets heavier, well then, hmmm… That would be good. Not a 300 lb squat but still.., good. Goals change. Maybe 300 lb squat next year. I’m not ready.

ParticipantI recAll a schoolyard chant from the 70s:
A fight a fight a ni–er on a white!
And I remember seeing many macho young Italian dudes messing with black kids bussed in to our neighborhood and that chant…
Just kinda came back to me…nobody shot each other. Now it probably would end that way… Don’t recall lots of interracial reaching out…
