ParticipantWell. Too late on this crack. Really doesn’t look too bad. Not sure if cutting would’ve worked…it was a big chunky loose piece that made a bad noise when you drove over it.

ParticipantQuick and cheap.

Participant

California is now recommending a shower every other day and yet were taking on more people.
The dems/libs will stop at nothing to build their ranks.
What’s your source for the shower every other day? Is it an official recommendation? Or just something some non-official advocacy groups recommend?
I don’t like to shower every day. My wife says I smell but I think she’s getting used to it. I just like to be a little oily.

Participanta massive pine did crack our driveway some, was liek that when we bought it but got worse. piece of concrete was sticking up.. i went out with a sledgehammer and kind of cracked up the offending chunk. it’s in a number o pieces now, and i had to take some out but it works fine now. looks ok too, IMO. wife can be fussy but she’s allright with it. didnt even need to repave. it’s like large gravel…

ParticipantMy kid swam in hs. A few times came in 3rd. Was pretty exciting to see him toward the front of the pack. Now that he’s just a recreational swimmer he looks like an awesome dolphin. really, just watching anyone explode across the water doing the butterfly or a really smooth freestyle is impressive, once you’re outside the competitive arena
I think he could’ve been really good if he tried and we’d pushed him hard when young but im pretty sure he would never have been great because he does not really want to win. i remember the first organized meet we took him to at a swim club in temecua, he came in last, and he was just swimming along at a recreational rate, no faster than his regular swimming at any time. we asked him what was up, and he just said he didn’t feel like rushing. he was justa little guy, maybe 11? 12? we were like, dude, IT WAS A RACE…he seemed to have missed the memo on that…
. co worker has a hs swimmer with some scholarships and the level of commitment the family had, to outside coaching, camps, non hs meets, driving distances to get there is intense and amazing.
One thing my kid always won was the training session contests where the coach would have them swim only underwater to see who could go furthest without breathing.
He’s amazing at that! Focused and calm and for some reason enjoyed practicing holding his breath. too bad it’s not an event. he would just glide back and forth in that giant pool, like some strange fish …creepy long time under there…
hs sports can motivate parents too. part of the reason I started lifting weights now that i think about it was jealousy over his beautiful back and shoulders from all that damn swimming. i felt like i was getting left behind……

ParticipantWhy are eucalyptus so bad? Sure branches break and they she’d mulch and leaves like crazy but if you have room and they’re out of the way what’s the problem?

ParticipantI’d rather be remembered for my wit than my watch.

ParticipantBut if I wore it 15 years it’ll probable be worth what I paid for it then and it’ll have been free except for the interest I might be earned on it…

ParticipantThose things are sensible. How will $3100 watch make my life remotely better?
The Tudor black bay heritage watch. I love it. In red.
Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=141093117697&alt=web
I cannot articulate why I want this so much. But it is so utterly beautiful.

ParticipantI never participated in sports and frankly I think I might be less fucked up in some ways if I had.

ParticipantI have 150 trees. Many of them I dislike. Stupid trees. There is an optimal number of trees …. I have more than that number.

ParticipantWell. No. On paper or maybe on the strand it looks good but in the field we are oddballs …
It’s difficult to feel superior to anyone. We are good enough, genetically I guess. Which is probably all that’s needed to keep the line gojng.scaredyclassic
Participantok. i will.
there’s a local club for younger kids called BIG CAT WRESTLING IN murrieta. my middle kid did it a while but ultimately it didn’t click for him. kids were pretty strong and fast.
ive been thinking about forcing my little one to try it out. he’s open to it but more into pokemon. thing is, he’s strangely strong and is always tumbling around with his pal. he has a solid feel and seem s to like grappling.
cant hurt. if he hates it he hates.
by the way, if you’re int emecula, the big cat program is great. about as good as the TMEC swim program which is also amazing. big cats run by two hs coaches who like coaching middle schoolers to get them ready for hs wrestling. theya re super serious but decent to the kids. parents often watch the practices and are so grimly serious about the wrestling it sure looks liek the pressures on those kids to wrestle well… i just thought it was kinda fun to watch, but these parents are not in it for fun, theyre in it to win it.
