Participant
I do like Apple for tablets and phones – I don’t see any reason though to buy a Mac desktop.
I buy off lease PC’s off of ebay for $100 bucks or so and install a decent video card.
However, Mac Laptops even a few years old still have value. Most PC laptops have already been e-recycled.
I am cheap – and still basically broke.
I think being cheap can burn you in the long run.
For example, you can buy an Invicta watch and they are pretty nice but have no resale, etc..Or you could spend more and buy a Gucci watch and you can ALWAYS sell it.
Gucci watches are always in demand. Invictas? Not really…(but I do have a collection of cheap Invicta wacthes and no Gucci).
Watches are a,liability, require maintenance.
I did buy some mac stuff recently, even a desktop.
But the last mac we had for 7 years.

ParticipantThe Death File Is sobering. I tried to make it as neat as possiblr. But there’s still some weird notes. Stop this auto debit. Do that. Etc.
I guess the whole operation will be OK without me.
Even college doesn’t affect us too much. State school plus employed spouse and relatively low mortgage payment…kind of glad we didn’t save anything up for school. Was chatting with someone gearing up to pay full freight at an ivy league school for next 4 years. That would’ve changed our budget/balance sheet.
Feel happy, but still. Want sanders to win…

ParticipantReality is fluid.
Younger people seem OK with this.
If you rant too much about this topic you risk sounding old.
Damn transsexusls, get off my lawn!!!

ParticipantStealing client $ is the bar complaint that gets fast action.
Other complaints, it’s hard to tell. I’ve been reading bar complaint discipline summaries in the lawyer mag that publishes them for many years.
Part cautionary tales, part schadenfreude, part looking for people I know.
Like reading obituaries.
Anyway, sometimes the bar goes after odd transgressions. Usually though it’s just stealing money, not maintaining trust accounts properly.

ParticipantInterestingly that ethical rule was on the very first essay of the bar exam when I took it a couple decades ago. It’s always stuck in my mind since then.

ParticipantYou can run the lawyers name at http://www.calbar.org to check his disciplinary history.
You can get a complaint form on that website.
It may or may not be an ethical violation.
The rules of professional conduct with ca. Ethics rules are also available on that site.
It may be a violation to threaten criminal charges to gain leverage in a civil dispute. Not sure what rule that is.
Not legal advice. No idea if a bar complaint would help or hurt or if he is actually acting unethically.
Curious which school the lawyer went to and what year he graduated. It’ll be on the website.

ParticipantVermin supreme got shut out of a debate just because he sprinkled glitter on another candidate during a prior debate.

I’m soooo glad boredom is an outdated thing of the past. So much easier to wait places now!
At least have an interesting topic to google?

ParticipantCostco sells a cool dash mounted video that records everything while driving. I’d get that.
People can truly suck.
I don’t feel comfortable advising.
My guess is in court he’s gonna not impress any judge on any easement related hearing. He sounds like a major douche. That’s not a technical legal term but I suspect even the dimmest judge maybe able to sniff out his douchiness in a minute or two…
He won’t be able to stay with a lawyer of his own who isn’t a raging stupid douche either, I bet. He will fire anyone remotely reasonable. Sometimes I think there’s a whole subspecialty of lawyers who make a living simply from being extra douchelike.
