Rt.66
ParticipantAgreed, but I would have them start at the failed trade policys of the last 40 years. Why punish any American worker for bad Government policies or the greed of the wealthiest individuals in America, the Elite.
If our Government subjected our industries to unfair trade pressure because they had globalism in mind and not America or the American worker then why should we accept the loss? How about the Government sending Japan a reparations bill for every car they sold under antagonistic trade terms during the last 30 years?
Bet that would save a few US jobs?
Why are we the workers paying the cost for everything? Eventually we have to say no more! No more jobs going overseas, no more tax credits for US companies who send jobs offshore, no more layoffs, less imports instead! We could fix GM, Ford and Chrysler and get them back hiring if we level the playing field or maybe we might even have to tilt the field our way for a while.
You do not want to see what a US that does not even build its own cars looks like. Would you rather see Japan slapped with a VERY deserved tarrif or 1 million American elderly retirees lose the retirement they worked for, were promised and count on?

Can’t they manage their business?? They should be shut down too!
[/quote]LOL,
Seems after decades of Government support (the Japanese Gov. even funded Toyota’s Hybrid program), assistance and the entire might of Japan running interference, clearing the way to easy victory with unfair trade policies and currency manipulation Toyota is back at the Gov. trough.
Next up, the Japanese people demanding the demise of Toyota?

Participantmacromaniac,
I don’t agree, but the Elite are happy your programming is intact.
Are the UAW workers in Ohio, Tennessee, Indiana, Georgia, Oklahoma etc., lazy good for nothing people too?
Dude when was the last time you drove by a CalTrans job and seen even 1/2 of the guys actually doing anything?
At a construction site?
Care to peak inside the internet surfing world that exists inside every fortune 500 office cubicle building?
I’ve seen those things first hand, does that make me an expert on something?
GM must be doing a few things correctly because in good times they manage to make great cars and trucks and locomotives and even make a profit. You make it sound as if things are so aweful nothing ever gets done.
Huge, exagerated sensationaism is a great tool to put misleading negatives into people’s heads and get them to think the way you need them to.Think about it? How often do you hear a Japanese car driver say something like “GM, oh their cars are ok, I just liked the look of this tiny little Prius better”. Nah, you hear something more like “GM, shit no! Their cars are junk”. Why?
I’ve had bad luck with Japanese cars but I can admit that based on other people’s experiences they are descent cars, just as are VWs, Audis and BMWs. You really cannot buy a truely shitty car on any car lot in the US right now. Every one of them is likely to go 100K with no real problems if you take care of them. Lots of GM cars will make 200k for their owners with no real problems as will lots of Hondas.
