ParticipantOne of the greatest purchases I have ever made was of a cheap OBD II diagnostic computer at my local Pep Boys. Each time the light comes on Pacific Porsche wants to charge me $130 to diagnose what’s wrong and turn off the light. It is virtually always something minor. I paid $69 for the device, it typically takes about 60 seconds to figure out the problem and tun off the light. About every 6 months my car has a cylinder misfire, which is completely benign, but causes the check engine light to come on. I figure the little machine has saved me 4 trips in the past 2 years, and I haven’t spent a dime on the car aside from routine maintainance.

ParticipantThis happens to us about every 4-5 months. Here’s the solution: Go to Home Depot, find a product call Amdro Ant Block and sprinkle it around the outside of your house. Don’t put it where your pets might go, it’s OK, you don’t need complete coverage. In 1 day all the ants are gone. Trust me, this stuff is great. I find 1 jug of the stuff treats my house twice.
My wife goes insane when she sees ants, so I tried everything. This stuff is the best.

Participant“So am I understanding this. Most all of you who have answered this thread make over $150k and you can’t afford to buy a house,”
Make no mistake 92024, I absolutely can afford to buy a house, I CHOSE not to because it would have been a stupid finacial decision when I moved to LA in 2006. I seriously considered it for a few months, then canned the idea when I saw what $750,000 or so bought in the LA south bay.
Ous self-rightous BS as you put it, is the natural reaction we have when we watch overpriced houses come back to a more realistic price, and listening to all the whining coming from people who presented themselves as the greatest financial minds of our time because they “invested” in the housing bubble.
And I never said anyone was a loser because they weren’t getting the refund, I just said I wouldn’t want to trade places with them. I wouldn’t want to be an FB either, which is why I didn’t buy.

ParticipantIsn’t it priced the same as when they took it off the market the last time? Isn’t the definition of idiocy doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?
I still like this place, but wouldn’t buy it for more than 900K.
SD, nice to hear Stonebridge is taking it on the chin. I like that community. I was talking to a Realtor friend in SD a couple of weeks ago, he said that many of the new construction with SOLD tags on it there have just been deposits taken, and nowhere close to a done deal.
Should be interesting to see what happens.
