5yes I know exactly what you mean. It hasn’t completely died out yet, just last month I had a friend try to convince me to buy a wonderful “investment property” in 4S Ranch.

NavydocParticipantAlex angel, your love for 4S Ranch makes me wonder if you have a property for sale.

NavydocParticipantI’ve been watching them too, and I have a lot of family that lives in that area, some with multiple properties. I agree the prices havn’t fallen to the levels you describe yet, but I can’t see how this situation can continue. There simply aren’t enough jobs out there that pay at the level to sustain these prices without exotic financing.
I wonder how much I can sublet one of my spare (rented!) bedrooms if one of my family loses their home(s)?

NavydocParticipantWow, offered at $0? I think I can actually afford this one. Now if only the commute to downtown wasn’t so long. Oh well, at that price I can charter a helicopter to work.

NavydocParticipantEx-SD do you really believe that those $1M plus properties are immune from the bubble burst? When I look through the SD listings it seems I’m finding huge reductions in this segment particularly. Considering how many of these properties exist in areas like 4S Ranch and Rancho Bernardo, among others, how many people can afford a house like that with 10-20% down and a 30yr fixed rate mortgage?
I’m so glad I’m finally not going to look like an idiot for not paticipating in this mess.
