Yeah, 45-60 min commute would be a deal breaker… However I tried that commute again today and I got from 805/Miramar to SEH town center in 25 minutes (at 7 PM) and I was surprised how little traffic there was. Maybe it’s only that bad in the mornings, or only at 7-8 AM?
I would’ve liked La Costa Heights even more than SEH (Carlsbad zip code after all … ) but ATM they are going for 700+ so I’d have to wait very long for $500k. In SEH on the other hand there is a couple of listings for 500-550k right now.

You need to make 150K to qualify for a conforming loan on a typical SFR in 4S Ranch, if you put 20% down. (More if you don’t have a spare hundred grand in your checking account) You know that, right?
