ParticipantThis being the internet and all we can’t forget the constant use of loose in place of lose.
Is it correct to say George Soros, or better to say douchebag?

ParticipantIn any case, I’d like to at at least see H-1B’s not have the indentured servitude as it stands. Allow them more free market flexibility. This might force companies to really have to pay prevailing wages.

ParticipantWhat a sissy punch too. All aggressive/nutso with people he knows won’t fight back. He didn’t even have any kind of bend in his arm to strike the guy he just stiffened the arm and threw a girlie punch around the front his face since the guy’s back was to him. Then he gouged in the guys face while wrestling around drawing some blood.
I’d love to taunt this guy into a brawl. What got me was the psycho broad screaming about Ensenada.
On another thought I know the investigative reporter has to maintain some level of professionalism, but I’d never willing get owned like that because “I am a reporter”. If someone is going to do that to me unless it’s some MMA expert or a Chuck Liddell type, I am going to try and inflict some punishment, and defend myself.
I am not even a mean or tough guy, but I’d love to smash that guy, and I think I’d even suspend the rule about hitting women with that motormouth wife of his. Or I’d sick my wife on her. People like that just bring out the worst in me.

ParticipantWhat do projected layoff stats mean anyway? I mean to ask to do they warn the government before announcing or is this just an estimate based on announcements?

ParticipantWell one strategy I’d recommend is to rent in an area that you might want to buy someday. In our case, we don’t necessarily have to buy in Cardiff, but as the kids get older the area from which we can buy homes gets larger and larger. At some point in a couple of years we can probably cover all of Encinitas, and my kids will still have a large group of friends. Whatever area you are targeting do not simply look at the elementary schools, but look at MS, and HS that the area feeds into. In your case your child is quite young, but remember you can rent for a few years, and if you like the schools you are in, and will feed into, then great.
I actually go straight to the High schools. If I don’t see my kids at San Marcos high, then I could care less what the local elementary that serves San Elijo Hills is rated.

ParticipantThere is some amount of risk to the body when you want to go for something bigger than the routine. For instance, building your body, flexibility and strength to throw a baseball 95 MPH, will invariably cause some to blow out their arm. Part of life. Look at the tremendous punishment, and extreme training one goes through to become a high level football player.
This guy found a niche, and exploited it to the fullest, more power to him. He seemed to have fun doing it.

ParticipantThat’s interesting because I work up off of Genesee and won’t take the coaster due to the extreme inconvenience. First either back track to Encinitas, or go a few miles south to Solana Beach, ride to Sorrento Valley and catch the bus up to work. Then on the way home you can still hit some traffic just getting back to the station. Then the cost is something around $8.00 per day so unless the car is acting up, it’s just easier to drive the 12 miles.
However a station in UTC might be interesting. You could look at using a bike to supplement the train.

ParticipantJust remember there is a premium for schools and demographics regarding Carlsbad Vs. San Marcos. I think SEH also means an extra 20 minutes of commute assuming you work down in SD.

ParticipantYes but that $5000 decrease will finally get bodies through the door.

ParticipantHow you do find out how much it sold for? Do you wait until it posts at the county or do you call the realtor?

ParticipantUSAA is not available to general public any longer. This stopped somewhere around June 30. For those who are already banking customers, they will be grandfathered in.
If you are already a banking customer you will be allowed to buy CD’s, arrange for credit cards, loans, etc.

ParticipantMy kids both play travel baseball, and I’d love for them to quit. I make it quite clear that they can quit at any time but they don’t want to. I have absolutely said no long exotic trips for baseball tournaments.
A kid who truly wants to be a great ball-player would need to treat learning great mechanics much the same way a classical pianist toils over the keyboard. I don’t think my kids are going to be Pros, so I am questioning why should they go through all that.
However I have stopped short of quiting for them (by simply no longer writing checks). I think it’s their decision at this point.

ParticipantDon’t worry the GOP will eventually face the fact that Big Business and Evangelicals, cannot co-exist forever.
Big Business and their Orwellian-like adherence to globalization, will eventually cause a deep split in the GOP someday. The current administration promotes corporate welfare in the form of cheap off-the books labor.
Note that I am not saying that globalization can or will stop, I just see a day when the christians see that big business practices are nothing to stand up and fight for.
