ParticipantBack to Palin:
37,244,000 viewers just about 1 million short of Obama’s record-breaking 38,379,000. Obama was on 10 networks, Palin just 6. Obama is the #1, she is merely the #2.
So I ask again is there a buzz? This buzz amongst the base is reminiscent of the Newt Gingrich election when 50 years of Dem rule was ended.
Also 24 Million watched Biden. Again I don’t mind those that hate her, I just think when they say the pick was a big mistake, that they aren’t being realistic. And for the liberal critics only (not the wayward conservatives without a good candidate)…Hate her for policies, background, and values that’s fine, but have at least admit you must be a little concerned that you are in a dogfight now.
In a race you should be running away with. Any concern that most of the important states you need to steal back the election were won by Hillary? Any concern about Hillary saying the complaints against Palin are sexist?
There is certainly some regrouping going on at Team Obama, as they are now on D-E-F-E-N-S-E.
By the way, someone mentioned that they can’t believe piggs would be falling for the McCain/Palin ticket when they are supposed to be “so much smarter” since they are so keyed in on the housing bubble. Being a pigg I generally don’t listen to most politicians anyway. Doesn’t mean I want the party of more taxes, the party of anti-gun rhetoric, or the party of affirmative action. So yes it’s the lesser of two evils.

ParticipantStroke of genius if you ask me. A lot of piggies don’t flip on guys like Rush/Prager/Medved/Hannity/Hewitt etc. I don’t normally either as I am more of a sports talk fan. Today I flipped around and I tell you right now the base is energized. The PUMA democrats seem to like her, although they weren’t going to go with Obama no matter what so I don’t know if that’s a win.
What she has to do is appeal to enough middle america types to flip a state or two. I was a democrat growing up, mostly because dad was in the UAW and God-da#$%it, you had to be dem. However most of the union guys were big NRA and hunting types, and really not liberal in any obvious way.
I can see her life story playing well in the heartland. If McCain carries Michigan and Ohio, it’s all over but the crying.
Working women who are moderates will be attracted to her do it all style, while man men leaning conservative see her as the perfect woman. Attractive, Assertive, Intelligent, hard-working, hockey mom, husband a union guy…
Of course people don’t usually vote for VP, but from perusing message boards it seems there are many conservatives no planning on voting who might come back into the fold.
