I think the automatic reassessment is happening in Ventura county also. I have a friend who bought in 2007 in Simi and she didn’t apply, but was given automatically, a tax decrease.
They don’t have to do every house – just ones purchased between 2004 – 2007. (maybe 2003-2008.)
Why have the extra processing of dealing with requests… just send the assessors out to the neighborhoods with lists of houses during the window in question – and have them re-assess.
