I appreciate the advice on getting 1/2 the commission back with Redfin, I don’t have a problem with a realtor getting a commission if they add value on the transaction. I work a lot, so my time is valuable to me, so I will pay someone to save me time. Also, since many of the houses are older (and my fixer skills are as good as my typing skills – see above typo), someone experienced in older homes and pitfalls to avoid, I would value that. I have no problem with someone making money if they add value. (Now if someone recommends a good broker that will pass back half the commission – it’s not like I would refuse that).

Ed Landsberg of Scott & Quinn (he lives in the neighborhood and always manages to get the most outrageous prices for his sellers), and Rancho Buena Vista Realty (they’re a family owned business with an office on 30th St between north and south park). There’s also Elsa benedict, a realtor with an office on Beech St, right in the heart of south park. Hope this helps, and welcome to the ‘hood.
