the same way they welcome stupid fucks like you who think there is an endless supply of the taxpayer’s money to throw at any ‘problem’ your little bleeding heart takes an interest in
This is a man incapable of civilzed discussion, i suggest he remove himself to Redstate.com or some Limbaugh fan club.

It would cost more money to make them habitable than to raze them. The owners have been foreclosed on – the banks don’t want to invest in razing them… so they’ve abandoned them as well. These houses are stripped of plumbing and anything of value – they are NOT safe.
It’s all well and good to say let homeless vets live in them – but that isn’t very compassionate either since they’re not safe.
It’s not quite as black and white as suggested.
Guys who spent 16 weeks shitting in a box won’t mind no plumbing…
And i lived in a house without flooring for 4 months, best place i ever had.June 14, 2009 at 4:17 PM #415826patbParticipant
Currently there are a huge quantity of abandoned houses blighting Flynt and Detroit. When given opportunity, they usually end up back on the streets. In some ways, they do not want to live in our world. It is just a hard concept for us to get our heads around, because if we were homeless we would prefer to live somewhere. Many Katrina victims actually did live somewhere and were happy to have shelter.
An interesting read is “The Glass Castle.” And, a somewhat disturbing movie is “Wendy and Lucy.”
