November 18, 2010 at 3:49 PM #631900briansd1GuestWarren Buffett operates within the existing system that we have. Of all the big financiers, I find Warren Buffett to be fair minded, with the inclination to doing right by society (but also to serve himself).
What was the alternative to the government bailouts of 2008? Of course, the bailouts were not implemented in the most elegant ways; but we didn’t have the benefits of going back a decade and erasing the bad policies that inflated the bubble.
I’d personally like to see some retribution and punishment of the people who caused the crisis.

November 18, 2010 at 4:21 PM #631915jstoeszParticipantWhat is our current system?
I would contend that Warren Buffett operates as well as anyone under the current CRONY capitalist system. His investments currently seem to be predominantly in heavily regulated (crony) markets…
I guess that is where all the big money is these days.
I am somewhat speculating. I am no expert on Buffett. So Brian, please correct me if I am slandering without merit. I don’t want to bad mouth the man too badly though, at least he is giving all his money away.
