Spiders are REALLY tricky to get rid of. I have quarterly pest control and the spiders, they still come. BF goes out at night with flashlight and those big lighters and kills the black widows. (thought this post was his for a minute!) My pest control says that some chemical was banned 5 years ago, and so that is why spiders still come.
Water down as much as you can. Sweep daily. Keep bushes pruned and away from the house. You don’t want to give them anywhere to hide out. The good news is that the widows seem to be seasonal and when the temperature decreases, black widow sightings decrease as well.

Don’t you run the risk of torching your own house while killing the spider???
I am sure it’s effective for killing the eggs, but the risk for the collateral damage is remarkable.
I will probably have a one time spray for the spider, 155 dollars for these. The spider population outside my house (along walls) have decreased to only 2 that I can find today..
But it’s the eggs and also the ones in between walls which I worry about.
I will wash the garbage containers tomorrow. They are in there too.

I spray $3-4 worth of Ortho Home Defense Max outside the house every 3 months and it seems to be working. I draw a line where the foundation meets the ground and around doors and windows. I also spray the ground side of the top horizontal plank and the bottom of the fence.
My 6-year old likes to collect spiders. I sprayed the container once with Ortho and newly caught spiders would die quickly even weeks later. She thought all the spiders in the neighborhood are very sick.
