Coop: The problem is, as soon as anyone admits that it’s “meet the new boss, same as the old boss”, this whole house of cards collapses.
It’s not outside the realm of possibility to imagine rioting and insurrection. Look at the riots outside the Ford River Rouge plant during the Great Depression (which was quelled by the police and with deadly force), or the riots in Detroit in 1967 (which the government considered an armed insurrection, hence the presence of the Army National Guard and tanks).
This is a critical point in our history and the government is treading very carefully right now. Anything exposes the man behind the curtain and we are up the proverbial creek without a paddle.
Well propagandized tools like Breezie serve a very useful function as Lenin opined: Keep the sheep in the pen and docile.

June 18, 2009 at 6:32 PM #417228VeritasParticipantOn White House visitor list, Obama’s ‘transparency’ is murky:
Washington
When Barack Obama took office, he promised the most transparent presidency in history. His White House web site still displays the memorandum, signed the day after inauguration, committing his administration “to creating an unprecedented level of openness in government.”
But by now, it has become a cliché that when push comes to shove, the Obama White House behaves an awful lot like the Bush White House.
The latest flap is over visitor logs at the White House. The Obama administration is keeping secret, for now, the names of people who have visited the White House – though press secretary Robert Gibbs says that policy is under review.
