Watch out for sell-off in Sprint (S) tomorrow. Stock was run-up last 2 week on the hopes that they will buy T-mo.
I feel this is like the best thing that can happen to S. Hopefully the stock will crash bellow 4 next week!
On second thoughts – add Clearwire (CLWR) to the sell-off list too, but they are truly ****ed

But more than a decade ago, VoiceStream symbolized Deutsche Telekom’s hope of cracking the burgeoning American cellphone market. Befitting a deal of the dot-com era, Deutsche Telekom paid an enormous amount, $50.7 billion, in stock and cash for a business that as of July 2000 hadn’t generated a profit.

November 4, 2011 at 9:27 PM #732264briansd1GuestI have to take a small group of 9 people in a large van on a trip around Southern California.
These people are guests from abroad so they will not have US mobile internet. Roaming for them will be very expensive.
They all have smart phones so I want to provide Internet access while we are on the move in the van, so people can stay connected.
What mobile hotspot service would you guys recommend for that?
The service should be reliable because I don’t want to deal with people’s questions and be the tech support guy.

Why not just have them buy a 30 day SIM card? And must global firms have some kind of roaming deal with AT&T. Its part of their open world alliance thing…

Yeah, the but problem is that all of them will need a 30 sim card, at $40 each.
http://www.mysimplemobile.com/plans-40-unlimited.aspxThe problem with that is they have to remove their home sim card and they will miss calls.
My experience is that people don’t mind roaming for text, but data roaming is expensive.
With Wifi, you can use Viber to communicate internationally.
I’m thinking of a mobile hotspot like this:
