I misunderstood. The 60-days notice period runs from the notice date, not from the Trustee Sale. A lot of landlords bought property claiming that they planned to live there–cheaper ARM rates.
And I’m relieved to know that I’ve been sending people off to receive free legal help.

We paid the rent, likely just going to ride this out until April, make that our last rent and negotiate the security deposit for the last 2 months. I think we have much more time than that before a trustee sale. Looks like the landlord’s going to be a prick and just pocket my rent money. It’s the price I pay for the moral high ground, and I can live with myself. Not my problem if the landlord can’t.
