Certainly one could never vote for a presidential candidate who holds any different views than your own. Everyone knows that if the president wants to, he can instantly change the laws to reflect his personal views. If you are pro-choice, never ever ever vote for someone who is pro-life because if they are elected abortions will immediately become illegal. Conversely, if you are pro-life but vote for a pro-choice president, the day they take office there will be free abortion clinics on every corner.
It is easy to choose who to vote for. Just choose the person who says the most pleasing things, the things that disturb you the least.
Presidents nominate supreme court justices.
Exactly! That is why they can instantly change any law they want to. When they are elected they can immediately appoint all new supreme court justices who then go to work the next day and change all the laws.

That is the reason that a candidate is questioned about their stand on it, and gun laws, etc. Anything that can impact the SC and laws. It would be nice if there were a way to say that after 40 years or 50 years the law is the law. People keep their guns and personal health issues should be between patient and doctor, not micromanaged by government.
In any case, back to RP. It does appear he is glossed over.
