Seconded!
August 23, 2006 at 9:58 PM #32932lendingbubblecontinuesParticipantI’m with you JWM. After all, it’s retards like “davidpeace” who are providing “life support” for this dying patient.
Pull the plug already!
August 23, 2006 at 10:07 PM #32935JWM in SDParticipantTherein lies the problem. It’s morons like Davidpeace (if he really is what he says he is..I have my doubts) that have caused this whole thing to spin out of control since around 2003 when it should have died under its own weight.
August 23, 2006 at 10:13 PM #32937powaysellerParticipantThis attitude has permeated this board for some time. I was surprised when no one rushed to defend docteur and Alan Gin from my reprimands. As tired as you are of the permabulls, I am tired of the real estate professional permabulls, those in the business who should provide leadership and direction, but instead are in denial and try to convince themselves housing prices will keep rising.
August 23, 2006 at 10:16 PM #32940AnonymousGuestAgreed, but don’t forget we still need to appreciate the permabulls. We should thank these crackbabies who continue to buy real estate for helping to sustain our entertainment enjoyment.
August 23, 2006 at 10:20 PM #32941JWM in SDParticipantTrue…anyone see Murray’s post about rents going up…who exactly is he reporting to? What a dope.
August 23, 2006 at 10:23 PM #32944JWM in SDParticipantOf course they’re in denial…how else are going to suck in some unsuspecting FB so they can make the lease payment on the standard issue realtor Mercedes C240.
August 23, 2006 at 10:59 PM #32952rankandfileParticipantAll we have ever wanted was the straight scoop. You can only here so much BS before you say something about it. That’s why SD Realtor and others like him are so much more respected. They tell it like it is, rather than blowing smoke. And that’s why the Alan Gins and Lee Sterlings of the world will have their reward when the dust settles from this crash. I would much rather buy (and recommend others to buy) with someone like SD Realtor rather than Lee Sterling. I know that SD Realtor and honest realtors like him will tell me the truth. It’s all about trust.
August 24, 2006 at 7:31 AM #32968PDParticipantI have a lot of respect for realtors who are telling it like it is, too. It must be very hard not to parrot or believe the party line when the truth will very likely harm your own bottom line.
I talked to a realtor last weekend who was trying very hard to sit on the fence. He never lied to me (RE always goes up, can’t loose) even though he clearly wanted a sale. How could he not? That is how he gets paid. He did admit to me that it would not hurt me to wait a bit before buying.August 24, 2006 at 8:09 AM #32970AnonymousGuestSales and honesty are mutually exclusive, that is just the nature of the beast.
August 24, 2006 at 8:22 AM #32975barnaby33ParticipantThats not true either. In 93-97 you could be honest and sell. The problem is nobody was buying. Honesty is a tough row to hoe. I learned that from my dad; who was among other things an RE broker and a used car salesman! Its not easy. You will make enemies, but you’ll also get loyal customers. If you can survive long enough.

August 24, 2006 at 8:34 AM #32977waiting hawkParticipantThe speculators and investors that pulled back are most of the sales declines. Regular buyers are still clueless and are still high even though they are still so far down. I actually encourage people to still buy if they are retarded enough because we need to people to buy to post bad numbers. If nobody bought any homes then no negative numbers would be posted. Also the few people that will buy now won’t do much to prop up this market. So keep buying and help the negative data postings.. People that think that they will stay there long term is fine, which is ve3ry dumb and you still lose while you are paying that high price. You can refi the rate not the price of the home.
August 24, 2006 at 9:20 AM #32986LookoutBelowParticipantReminds me of DisneyLand when I used to take my small children there. Always at the end of the day, parents were walking with their sobbing, screaming, disgruntled, heart broken kids to the exit, the parents were glad they were going home and the kids were devastated the party fantasy was over.
Well, the real estate DisneyLand just closed.
August 24, 2006 at 10:01 AM #32998PerryChaseParticipantLookoutBelow, what a great analogy. You made my day!
