I’m with you, Concho. The first thing that came to mind when hearing the news about the “suicide” was, “yes, that’s what we’re told to believe.”
A group of men can easily “hang” another man. Doesn’t make it a suicide.
OTOH, if it’s a real suicide, it’s possible he was worried about an investigation of sorts, and feared that whatever might be coming could have meant a very long prison term for him. There’s always that, in this environment.
