ParticipantIt was 1997 for me (no kidding). I was renting in the renaissance area of UTC and watched 1br w/loft units (900sft) suddenly increase from 140K to 190K over the span of 6 months, I was like WTF? I truly believe the housing bubble started in the La Jolla area and spread like cancer from there across the entire country. When I see dire predictions that prices will return to “pre-bubble” 2003 prices in SD I have to laugh because I think we were 7 years into the bubble at that point.
