I remember listening to his “Money in the morning” program 10-15 years back on AM 1000. I did learn something about the mechanics of mortgage markets from his program but I remember him always being very cheerful about all investments, not just real estate. He was equally sunny about stocks, bonds, funds what have you. His investment mantra has always been the same – when things go down, don’t despair – just invest some more in it (he calls it “$ cost averaging”). I thought he had lost that program after the tech bubble burst and finance journalism became passe. Looks like the real estate bubble brought him back.

July 17, 2007 at 9:21 AM #66133mixxalotParticipantActually Chowderhead lives in VISTA!
Of all the crappy dump places to live in San Diego, I recall one time how he told listeners on KOGO AM that he bought a while ago in Vista and how he was proud of his investment. Now that is nothing to be proud of- to own in a dump like Vista or Oceanside is like bragging about owning property in Golden Hill or East LA or the ghetto! Yeah he is getting ancy and I look forward to the day that he gets the boot from radio. He is mean arrogant and a jerk!
Now here is one thing that bothers me. I have a friend who works at KOGO as a newsreporter. She actually says that Chowderhead is a nice guy in person off the record.

July 18, 2007 at 1:36 PM #66314DrewParticipantmixxalot, you need to get out more. Not that I would live in Vista, but there are many nice areas with beautiful 1mil+ dollar homes. Then again, you’re the guy that said Bay Park was filled with “gang bangers”, lol…

July 18, 2007 at 3:23 PM #66335mixxalotParticipantRancho Santa Fe and Del Mar
are way nicer than Vista and San Marcos. And I really dont care if there are overpriced villas in Vista. It sucks there. I would rather have a smaller place in coastal area.
