Naw, but that meme has grown far past any single board. I see it everywhere nowadays. I suppose it has jumped the shark, and for that, I am sorry for using it. I was actually just curious if anyone on piggington would know it.

I am pretty sure FC is where that meme came from. FC actually had an emoticon with that phrase. Another FC classic was “It’s a new paradigm. Anybody who doesn’t buy now will be priced out forever….” I actually saw that posted fairly recently on signonsandiego. The guy who posted that was piled on by furious posters who took him seriously. I just laughed my butt off.September 3, 2008 at 6:06 PM #265705TuVuParticipant

Fess up. Are you a graduate of the old FC board?
Me, too. Worked for and was laid off by a dot.bomb company in late 1999, two days before Christmas. My exit was pretty humiliating and that’s why I Googled and landed on FC. YES! That company was on there. The FC forums…what a tough crowd. Anything went. Lots of unemployed tech guys. As a tech moron, I got a lot of free technical advice. But I was careful to “post as a dot” and not reveal that I am female. I occasionally commented about other topics and FC taught me how to have a thick skin on ANY message board.
