Sausalito was built by Western Pacific Housing, not Pardee. I've heard from people the construction quality is not so great, though it probably has also to do with how people maintain things too.
Some thing people have complained to me about: wild animals frequently killing rodents/squirrels and leaving part of the remains in the backyard :(.

Western Pacific Housing merged with Schuler Homes in Apr/2001.
Schuler Homes was subsequently bought by DR Horton in Feb/2002.
