Participant
WASHINGTON — David Kellermann, the acting chief financial officer of money-losing mortgage giant Freddie Mac was found dead at his home Wednesday morning in what police said was an apparent suicide. (Police won’t say if a suicide note was found, yet call it “an apparent suicide”)

It’s being called an apparent suicide because he was hanging from a rope. But I agree, there’s room for speculation.UCGal

ParticipantI’m about to learn the ins and outs of this in my refi…
House currently owned by the family trust (owned by me and hubby).
Mortgage will be in my name only. (Husband’s job downsized recently and we qualified on just mine… so why not.)
As I understand it, the deed will get transfered from the trust, then back into the trust, at the time of the refi. Not sure if hubby will have to sign.
I’m sure Sheldon (HLS) knows the answer for sure since refi’s and new home loans are his business.

ParticipantThe first home I bought was a corner house. It was in Washington state. The downside was twice the amount of sidewalk to shovel when it snowed. Obviously, that is not an issue here.
Another issue for me was the lack of privacy in the backyard. In the town I lived in people didn’t fence as much as they do here.. So I would have had to spend serious $$ to fence in the backyard to get a private yard. If the backyard is already fenced, you won’t have that issue.
The final issue is car noise from 2 streets… But if the streets aren’t very busy, that’s another non-issue.
Personally, I wouldn’t buy a corner lot again… But that’s just me. I learned a lot of things not to do with that house.

Participant
Last year we had a baby (to get us citizenship of course).
…Again though, I am spending most of it on malt liquor and virgen de guadalupe candles.
I just spit out my coffee, laughing.
