Participantkewp, I hope they get those into production soon, even with $4 or $5 gas they would sell like hotcakes and they look cool. Sometimes I think about $10 gas and how it would change much more than real estate, it will change travel, destroy industries (rv’s, boats, remote recreation like skiing or camping) and make all shipped goods cost more. But before the doom and gloom sets it, I have to admit I have faith in the inventors, in this country and abroad. I think a few years ago if the 3 wheeler came out, people would be afraid of being out on the road with all the suv’s and getting in an accident but now they would dominate the road if they hit the market. I see tiny cars all day, yaris, fit, smart, the teeny cars are taking over and I would buy one of those three wheelers because they look fun. $5 gas or even $10 gas may be the kick in the butt we needed, if everyone got 100 mpg I’m not sure if we would even need to import oil, so in the end it may turn out to be a good thing.
I also think that if the Venture one is successful there will be copycats and they will leapfrog into even higher mpg, 20 years from now you may be looking at apple’s new icar. When i see the gadgets that apple comes out with it blows me away and I always think they need to get into the car business. And how nice will the air smell and look when the internal combustion engine is a thing of the past.

Participantforeclosure.com used to have a glitch, sometimes it still works, when you pick the link to the listing there are a whole bunch of charts and graphs, choose the zillow link or click on the graph and it links to the exact zillow for that house, revealing the street numbers, sometimes it only works when you pick the “charts and graphs” link and enter the four digit code they generate to prevent data mining, sending you to another page and that zillow graph when clicked links to the page with the address.
Foreclosure.com also breaks things into preforeclosure, sheriff sales and foreclosures tabs, ignore the power search. The foreclosures are from the mls so I never look at those, the preforeclosures are the nods and it gives the name of the owner/defendant, does the same on the sheriff sales (not’s).
Finally, and perhaps the most up to date way to figure it out is to go to the riverside county website, choose grantee search and run your landlord. It shows all loans, refi’s, nods, nots and judgements. If your landlord owns a few different houses you wont be able to tell which one is the nod or not is for without paying two dollars for a copy of the doccument or going to the recorders office but if it does reveal a recent nod, it’s worth looking into further.
If you dont know your landords name or if they purchased in the name of a trust, you can run the gis to see how it is recorded and you can also see the property tax bill online to see if it’s current and how the name appears for the bill.

upper left, how can we help drop down menu, “property info, grantee search, pay your property taxes” are all good ways to do research.
Everything I mentioned is free and online.

ParticipantSandi, good point and probably something I won’t be able to shake out of my head while shopping, so thank you. I have gotten caught up in the game, trying to win the game and not looking at the big picture.

ParticipantI vote for error, comps and zillow can be off but they all point to 500 range, hard to believe its over half off the closed sales and other listings nearby because it doesn’t even look thrashed, it looks good. Near the bottom of the redfin page you can see a model match on the same street solf for 591k 90 days ago. I kinda dount that it’s day 1 listing is 10k below it’s 1989 price. Even if they transposed the 4 and the 2 I would think it would be a deal at 420k. My guess is that the 2 should have been a 5. If it’s not and even if it’s 55 and older, i can get a fake I.D.
